Jacob D. Helman

J. E. Helman, prominent resident of Green died at his home there at 4:30 o'clock Monday afternoon.

Mr. Helman was born at Ashland county, Ohio, and had he lived until January 31 would have been 87 years of age. He came to Pettis county in 1865 residing on a farm near Camp Branch until recently when he moved to Green Ridge. He served in the federal army during the civil war and was a member of the Masonic lodge and Methodist Episcopal church of Green Ridge.

Surviving are his wife and three children: Miss Elvie Helman, Eugene and Forrest Helman.

Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Green Ridge Methodist church. Rev. D. E. Fields to officiate. Following this service the funeral party will go to McGee chapel where a short service will be conducted by Rev. R. Emerson Hurd and burial made.
