Know all men by these presents,

That We, Barbara Helman, Valentine Greiner and Pat Albright all of Donegal Township and Jacob Chitty of Elizabeth Township all in the County of Lancaster Are held an firmly bond unto the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in the sum of of Three Thousand and Six Hundred dollars to be paid to the said Commonwealth for the use of the parties interested in the estate of John Helman, late of Donegal Township aforesaid deceased, to which payment, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves jointly and severally, for and in the whole, our heirs, executors and administrators, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated the Third of day of September in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty three

THE CONDITION OF THIS OBLIGATION IS SUCH,

That if the above bounden Barbara Helman and Valentine Greiner Administrators of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said John Helman, deceased, do make or caused to be made a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession or knowledge of the said Barbara Helman and Valentine Greiner or unto the hands and possession of any person or persons for them and the same so made, do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, into the Register's Office in the county of Lancaster, within one month from this day; and the same goods, chattels and credits, and all other goods, chattels and credits, of the said deceased, at the time of his death, which at any time after shall come into the hands and possession of the said Barbara Helman and Valentine Greiner or unto the hands and possession of any other person or persons for them do well and truly administer according to law. And further do make, or cause to be made a true and just account of their said administration, in one year from the date hereof.

And all the rest and residue of said goods, chattels and credits, which shall be found remaining on the said administrators account, (the same being first examined and allowed by the Orphan's Court of the county of Lancaster) shall deliver and pay unto such person or person's respectively, as the said Orphan's Court by their decree or sentence, pursuant to the true intent and meaning of several laws now in force in this Commonwealth, shall limit and appoint, and if it shall appear hereafter, that any last will and testament was made by the said deceased, and the executor or executors therein named, do exhibit the same into the Register's Office making request to have it allowed and approved accordingly; and if then the above bounden Barbara Helman and Valentine Greiner being thereunto required, do render and deliver the said letters of administration; approbation of such testament being first had and made ins late said Register's Office, then this obligation to be void and of none effect, or else to remain in full force and virtue.

I, John Whiteside, Esquire, Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of administration, in and for the county of Lancaster, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,

To Barbara Helman and Valentine Greiner
both of Donegal Township

Greeting:

Whereas, John Helman late of the same township

lately died intestate (as is affirmed) having whilst he lived, and at the time of his decease, divers goods and chattels, rights and credits, within the county aforesaid, by means whereof, the full disposition and power of granting letters of administration thereof, is manifestly known to belong to me: I, therefore, desiring that the goods and chattels. rights and credits which were of the said deceased, may be well and truly administered, converted and disposed of according to law: DO hereby grant unto you, the said

Barbara Helman and Valentine Greiner (in whose fidelity in this behalf I very much confide) full power, by the tenor of these presents, to administer the goods and chattels, rights and credits which were of the said deceased, within the said county; as also to ask, collect, levy, recover and receive the credit whatsoever of the said deceased, Which At the time of his death were owing, or did in any way belong to him and to pay the debts, in which the said deceased stood obliged, so far for as the said goods and chattels, rights and credits will extend, according to the rate and order of law, especially of well and truly administering the goods and chattels, rights and credits, which were of the said deceased, and making a true and perfect inventory and conscionable appraisement thereof, and exhibiting the same in the Register's Office at Lancaster, within one month from this date: And also a true and just account, calculation and reckoning of your administration, upon your solemn oath or affirmation, to render within one year from the date hereof—And I do, by these presents, ordain, constitute and depute the said

administrators of all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits which were of the said deceased, within the limits aforesaid, saving harmless and forever indemnifying me, and all other officers, against all persons, by reason of your administration aforesaid, and saving all others, their rights &c.

IN TESTIMONY whereof I have caused the SEAL of the said office to be hereunto affixed, dated at Lancaster aforesaid the Third day of September in the year of OUR LORD, one thousand eight hundred and twenty three.
