The Carroll County Genealogical Society began as a bicentennial project in 1976 by local citizens concerned with preserving Carroll County's history through its people, both past and present.

The Carroll County Genealogical Society continues to collect genealogical information, storing, and indexing it for use by future generations.

Some of the Society's past projects include:

        Publishing "Savanna-Yesterday and Today."
      
        Republishing and indexing "The 1878 Carroll County History."

The Carroll County Genealogical Society membership dues are $15.00 per year.  Renewal is in January.  All members receive our quarterly newsletter and may submit queries up to 50 words.

• Cemetery Tombstone Records - Various Prices, there are individual listings for each cemetary with sexton information.
• Savanna-Yesterday and Today, with 16 additional pages of current pictures and information - $15.00, $3.00 for mailing.
  
• Funeral Home Records - April, 1866 to December, 1992 - $55.00, $7.00 for mailing
• Funeral Home Records - August, 1992 through December, 1998 - $15.00, $3.00 for mailing    This collection includes all known records of Chadwick, Mt. Carroll, Savanna and Thomson Funeral Service Providers,  plus Hanover and Elizabeth in Jo Daviess County and from Sabula in Iowa.
