Most of the data in the following tables appeared in the respective census documents for the enumerations districts of Stockholm, Otter Creek, Hayes, and Wheeler townships in Crawford, Ida, and Sac counties. The 1900, 1910, and 1920 tables also include the town of Kiron and many from Deloit, Goodrich, and Milford. In some cases, former residents found in the enumeration districts outside the above townships were included. Relatives or friends of residents that are living in western Iowa are sometimes included but to a much lesser extent. Two factors affect name spellings. One was simply poor legibility of the record. The second was the inconsistencies from census to census with which the names of identifiable persons were spelled. Later spellings tend to be used in the following lists. Lastly, unknown surnames of married women are generally indicated with a "___" or a "?". The "?" indicator is also used in other places to indicate uncertainty. Please be aware of the compilation nature of the tables and that day and month data as well as detailed birthplace data came from other sources. Some of this detail has not been validated.
