This page, and those that are linked directly
to it are, for some visitors, perhaps the most important and valuable on
this site. Thanks to a fabulous new program, CCHelper
(County Coordinator's Helper), an application written by Patty Lindsay for
use by USGenWeb sites (I also manage the Erie
County, PA USGenWeb Site), visitors are able to view a registry where
ALL surnames and ALL queries are fully indexed! In addition, pages are
generated, automatically, allowing such things as surname lists to be
provided in "bite sized chunks." Without question, this will allow
Sicilian researchers to seek and post their information with considerable
ease! |

The Nostro Albero Database has more than 5300 italian
surnames (Last update 05/01/96) and is growing quickly. At present is not
possible to send to you the result of your search instantly, the result
will reach you within 24 hours via E-mail. The GEDCOM database contains
about 350 files in GEDCOM format. When you send a surname to be searched,
this database is checked as well. If possible, it would be very kind of
you in sending your GEDCOM file to [email protected]. This
service was created by myself, there is not any kind of company or

Archives of Canada Miscellaneous Immigration Index

The National Archives of Canada (NAC) holds a few
lists of immigrant settlers and passenger lists scattered within various
collections, mostly relating to immigrants from Great Britain arriving in
Canada between 1801 and 1849. Staff of the Genealogy Unit prepared a
nominal card index to most of those lists, which is referred to as the
Miscellaneous Immigration Index. With the Archives' permission we have
input the information from those cards into a database containing
approximately 15,000 names. |

Data Banks |
The Centro di documentazione sulle popolazioni e le

Foundation in 1993, offers three separate data banks containing the

ships that arrived in New York, Buenos Aires and Vitoria (Italian
nationals only). This information, available up to now only on paper in
the archives of the respective cities, has been loaded onto a computer
together with the search software required for consultation. |
