Of all the children, only Elizabeth was born in the US. They settled near Elysian, in LeSeur County MN, where some of the other Quiram family had settled many years before.

  The family moved sometime around 1894, possibly due to a scandal around the marriage of Anna QUIRAM to Ernest VOLKMANN. The QUIRAMs and Ernest's parents moved to Otter Tail County, MN. Wilhelmina and August are buried in the Dora Cemetery in that county, along with some of their children.
