Widow of Contractor Was Pioneer Here
Mrs. O. P. Wickham, 91, widow of the later general contractor, member of the firm of Wickham Brothers, died at her home, 618 South Seventh street, Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Wickham was a resident of this city, coming here at the age of 12.
Mrs. Wickham was active in war work during the first world war and was a member of the Company L Comfort club for her brother who was in the service of World War I. She was also a member of the American Legion auxiliary, and of the Alter Society of the St. Francis Xaxier Catholic Church.
She was the first pupil to enter St. Mary's Convent in Omaha.
She is survived by one son, George Wickham; four daughters, Cecilia, Agnes, Ruth, and Mrs. C. L. Dunkle, who is of Los Angeles; eleven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 a. m. Saturday at the St. Francis Xavier church, requiem mass will be celebrated by the Rev. James P. Danahey. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's cemetery.
Friends may view the body at the Wickham home. The Beem-Bedford funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
