Most days the weather was lousy (May, 2002), but this day was beautiful. It is very rare to get a distant shot that is so clear. Spring was late. There were fewer flowers in 2002 than in 2000.

Thomas Wieland (Wayland in Virginia) and Maria Barbara Seppach, his wife, had two childen baptized in this Church at Waldbach. Waldbach is to the east of Heilbronn, and perhaps 25 miles out of the high concentration area of Germanna II immigrants.

Not all buildings are as pretty as the churches, but this barn has its points of interest. The fill between the timbers is an adobe like mixture; bricks are preferred today.

Every village and town has its "wappen", or symbol. Another one is shown for �tisheim on the page for its pictures. (To see it click here.) This one implies that vineyards are in the area, but we did not see any. This is probably an indication of how old the village is.
