Lambsheim Church
Most churches are modern as compared to the watch towers, for example. Still, it is often the case that parts of the present churches date back a few hundred years. This church in Lambsheim shows visual evidence of construction at two different periods, probably in the 1800's.

Lambsheim Tower
This is a portion of the watch tower in Lambsheim. The date stone in the wall indicates a date in the 1500's. So, the Christler family would have seen this tower before they left for Pennsylvania (later, members of the family moved to Virginia). The town is even older than the watch tower, as the first reference to the town is from the 1300's. Originally, the tower was probably a part of the wall surrounding the town.
