William Carter was born Abt. 1791 in Orangeburg District, SC, and died Bef. 1840 in Pike County, MS. He married (1) Hannah Jemimah Cole October 22, 1812 in Amite County, MS, daughter of Mark COle and Hannah Spell. He married (2) Susannah Williams October 05, 1820 in Amite County, MS.
    William Carter was a Lieut. Capt. Henry Quin's Co. 13 Reg't. Mississippi Territory War of 1812, engaged for 3 months, discharged 5 Feb. 1815. There is no mention of an engagement during this period.

Isaac F. Carter was born Abt. 1812 in Amite County, MS, and died Abt. 1853 in LA. He married Margaret Holden November 20, 1836 in Amite County, MS.

  • Americus V. Carter, b. November 02, 1839, MS; d. January 14, 1902, Natchitoches Parish, LA; m. Martha Jane Ponder
    In 1862, A.V. entered the service in Co. E, 2nd Louisiana Cavalry as a Second Lt. He was captured at Barwick City and paroled a day later. In 1864, he was again captured at Henderson's Hill in Rapides Parish, was held four months and exchanged in July of that year. He was promoted to First Lt. and served to the war's end.

  • William O. Carter, b. January 15, 1846, Natchitoches Parish, LA; d. January 09, 1929, McCurtain County, OK; m. (1) Isabella, Natchitoches Parish, LA; m. (2) Addie Lee Martin, 1902, LA.
    William O. enlisted in the Confederate Army at age 16. Served in Company E, 2nd Louisiana Cavalry and in trans-Mississippi dept under Col. Vincent in General Taylor's command.
  • Elizabeth A. Carter, b. July 22, 1849, Natchitoches Parish, LA; d. June 16, 1888; m. Charles N. Carter, son of Marion Francis Carter in 1872.
  • Thadeus A. Carter, b. November 22, 1852, Natchitoches Parish, LA; d. February 04, 1908; m. Sara L. Smith. They had eight children. He was a noted physician in Robeline, LA.

Mahala Carter was born Abt. 1815 in MS, and died December 08, 1862 in prob Sabine Parish, LA. She married (1) Jacob Leonard Amacker November 03, 1834 in Pike County, MS, son of John Amacker and Sarah Varnado. He was b: 23 Jan 1809 Orangeburgh Dist., SC d: 05 May 1855 in Alexandria, Rapides Par., LA. Mahala later married (2) Silas Roberts June 12, 1860 in Sabine Parish, LA.

  • Gertrude Amacker b: abt. 1836 d: 16 May 1858 Corywell, TX m. Jessie Morris in 1850. They had one son who died young. She had one son who died young.
  • Joseph Perlemon Amacker b: 9 Aug. 1838 (one record showed 1835) d. 23 Dec 1883 near Amite, LA. marr. 1st in 1858 Margaret McMichael, d. 1868 (dau. of George Phillip McMICHAEL, Sr.) and 2nd 10 Oct 1869 to Elizabeth Jane POWELL (of St. Helena).
      Joseph Perlemon and Margaret had one son, Julius Hardee.
      Joseph Perlemon and Elizabeth had nine children.
