My ancestor, Joseph Raborn II, was evidently a minister, because he signed his name Rev. Joseph Raborn on several documents. He obtained a passpost to cross the Indian lands of Georgia for himself, wife, three children and mother-in-law on November 22, 1810.

He was appointed sheriff of Pike County in 1870 and was assinated on the steps of the Bogue Chitto Station while transporting a prisoner.
