"E. D. Sled's mother, Margarett, stated that about a day or two before George Wesley Davidson got hurt and died that he saw his wife Carrie, who was deceased, wave to him from a cloud. George told this to Margarett the day that he saw Carrie.

Margarett and family were visiting grandpa and grandma Wesley Camp and Minerva E. Hayes Davidson in Banks, Arkansas on a Sunday. Uncle George was there visiting, too. A thunderstorm came up and the clouds rolled in. This was when George saw Carrie wave to him from a cloud. George told his sister, Margarett, about it just before she and her family left to go home. Uncle George got a contract with the highway department to haul gravel to the Banks highway that they were building at the time. He would load his wagon at the gravel pit and haul it and dump it on the highway. There was a dynamite charge that someone had set in the gravel pit and it had not gone off. Uncle George pulled his wagon in there and started shoveling the gravel, and then the dynamite charge went off. It slammed George into the wheel hub and broke his back in three places. Grandma Davidson (Minerva) came to the house where George was taken. She asked him what he wanted; and he said, "Some buttermilk." She brought him some, which he drank then died. Dad (E. D. Sled) was not sure of the time between George seeing Carrie; his accident and dying. It seemed like a very short time between the three. Uncle George played the banjo very well."
