First Generation

1.  Daniel DAVIDSON was born 8 Aug 1785 or 28 Jul 1789 in Virginia. He died 5 Mar 1865 in 
Carlisle, Sullivan County, Indiana and was buried in Davidson Cemetery, Carlisle, Sullivan 
County, Indiana.
Daniel married Mary ENOCHS, daughter of Thomas Davis ENOCHS and Nancy BRYAN, about 1807. Mary 
was born 17 Oct 1790 in Rowan County, North Carolina. She died 15 Jun 1881 in Carlisle, Sullivan 
County, Indiana and was buried in Davidson Cemetery, Carlisle, Sullivan County, Indiana.
They had the following children:
	2  F  i.	Sarah DAVIDSON was born 3 Feb 1808 in Jessamine County, Kentucky. She died 28 
Jan 1873 in Sullivan County, Indiana.
Sarah married Isreal BENEFIEL. Isreal was born 29 Oct 1806 in Ohio. He died 8 Jan 1873 in 
Sullivan County, Indiana.
	3  M  ii.  John DAVIDSON was born 12 Aug 1810 in Kentucky.
John married Polly HACKETT, daughter of William HACKETT and Mary.
	4  F  iii. Nancy DAVIDSON was born 1813 in Indiana, or Kentucky.
Nancy married Benjamin LAMB on 1833 in Sullivan County, Indiana. Benjamin was born 1811 in 
Virginia.
	5  F  iv. Miranda DAVIDSON was born 13 Feb 1814 in Kentucky.
Miranda married Benjamin SISSON.
	6  F  v.	Mary Elizabeth DAVIDSON was born 1815 in Carlisle, Sullivan County, Indiana. 
She died about 1877 in Sullivan County, Indiana.
Mary married Harrison ALSMAN.
	7  M  vi. Thomas Enoch DAVIDSON was born 26 Sep 1819 in Carlisle, Sullivan County, 
Indiana. He died 5 Feb 1895 in Sullivan County, Indiana.
Thomas married Elizabeth GOBIN, daughter of William GOBIN and Sophia MCCLANAHAN, on 24 May 1849 
in Sullivan County, Indiana. Elizabeth was born 9 Mar 1825.
	8  F  vii. America DAVIDSON was born 1822 in Carlisle, Sullivan County, Indiana.
America married Morton HACKETT, son of William HACKETT and Mary, on 1842 in Sullivan County, 
Indiana.
	9  M  viii. David Joe DAVIDSON was born 1825 in Carlisle, Sullivan County, Indiana. He 
died in in Spanish Amewrican War.
	10  M  ix. George McMahon DAVIDSON was born 1827 in Carlisle, Sullivan County, Indiana.
George married Eliza Ann S. DAVIS. Eliza was born 1828 in Sullivan County, Indiana.
	11  M  x. Daniel DAVIDSON was born 1829 in Carlisle, Sullivan County, Indiana.
Daniel married Mary DAVIDSON, daughter of John R. DAVIDSON and Lavina BOOKER, on 13 Jan 1853 in 
Sullivan County, Indiana. Mary was born 1832 in Sullivan County, Indiana.

Mary D. Pielemeier  on Sun, 02 Aug 1998 Daniel Davidson was in the 1810 Jefferson 
Co. census with wife and 3 small children living on Floyd's Fork at Middletown, Jefferson co., 
Ky. About 1817 he sold his land and came to Sullivan Co., Indiana. Does anyone know anything at 
all about this man?? His wife was Mary Enochs, daughter of Thomas Enochs of Oldham county. 
Census records say Daniel was born in Va. His wife Mary Enochs was born in Rowan Co., N.C. Any

THOMAS E. DAVIDSON, one of the principal farmers of Haddon Township, is a native of Sullivan 
County, Ind., and was born September 26, 1819, on the same farm where he now lives. His parents 
were Daniel and Mary (Enochs) Davidson, from Kentucky, who bore a family of ten children, and 
were among the influential people of their community. Our subject received a common school 
education in the early schools according to the pioneer methods of teaching. Elizabeth Gobin 
became his wife on May 24, 1849, and by her he is the father of nine children, these seven now 
living: Charles C., Fannie, Benjamin R., Elizabeth, Thomas F., Caroline and Cora, born 
respectively December 10, 1851, March 7, 1853, September 21, 1854, May 14, 1857, October 15, 
1858, May 15, 1860, and March 15, 1862. Mrs. Davidson was born March 9, 1825, daughter of 
William and Sophia (McClanahan) Gobin. Mr. D. has farmed most of his life, and has done 
considerable shipping of stock and produce by boats to New Orleans. He now owns about 500 acres 
of good farming land, highly improved. Mrs. Davidson is a member of the Presbyterian Church at 
Carlisle. Subject engaged in cotton-raising soon after the war, and tells some interesting 
stories of his adventures in the South land. He is a Democrat.
