"Was George Davidson, whose estate settlement was made 30 July 1841
in Maury county, Tennessee, the son of Alexander Davidson, who died in
Bedford county-later Marshall county? A deed made in 1803 Iredell county,
North Carolina to George for 700 acres in Tennessee by Alexander Davidson.
Was George the father or uncle of Joseph Davidson, who married Matilda
Tucker in February 1824? Her father, Jeremiah Tucker, owned land adjoining
George Davidson on waters of Flat creek the north side of Duck river, 1820.
"Who was George's wife? Where did Joseph and Matilda live? The 1850
census does not show them. I need information on Joseph. They had relatives
in Lincoln, Bedford, Dickson and Marshall counties, Tennessee."

would like to know about the Davidson family. Was George Davidson-
originally from Iredell county, North Carolina, the father or grandfather
of Joseph, who married Matilda Tucker in February 1824 in Maury county,
Tennessee? Jeremiah Tucker, Matilda's father, owned land adjacent to
George Davidson's land on the water of Flat Creek on the north side of
Duck River, April 1820. Joseph was on the 1832 tax list, Maury county.
He is not on the 1850 census. Matilda may have died July 1863. Was
Elizabeth the wife of George? Who were James and John Davidson near
George on the 1830 census? Who was the George Davidson, who died
before July 1841? I need information on Joseph and Matilda's family.

I am researching my gr gr grandmother Eliza Davidson. I have very little
information on her prior to her arrival in Lenawee Cty, MI and her marriage to
Wesly Sanford. She was born somewhere in New York in 1837. She married in
Lenawee Cty, in 1858. There are several Davidson families listed in the book
"The Pionner Families of Southeastern Michigan". I believe her to be connected
to one of them Simeon Davidson who was born 1804 in NY and married Cerena
Miller there in Lodi, Seneca Cty, NY in 1829. A Lenawee Cty land book shows
Eliza becoming owner of Simeon's property late in her life. My grandmother
also heard the names Minor and Frank, both of whom are Simeon's sons.
Unfortunately Eliza is not listed with the family in any census. Other
evidence suggests Simeon had some brothers who also moved to Lenawee Cty and
Eliza may belong to one of them. Any information pertaining to this Davidson
branch would be very welcome and appreciated! Thanks. Regards, Sandy

Do we have a Davidson researcher who is researching their line in Hungtindon Co., PA?
We found a Phineas Davison in the 1800 Census in that county and wondered if someone would
have any information on him.
In particular we would like to know if he died in this county, when and did he leave a will
that mentioned William Davidson. Our Phineas was born in Scotland and came to America with
his three brothers. We believe that if this Phineas is ours and he died in this county after
the 1800 Census, he would have been over 70 years old. Please write to us if you have any
information about him. Thanks a lot for your help.

Am researching Clayton DAVIDSON, born abt. 1827 in TN according to
census records. He married Elmira SHEFFIELD (daughter of Ephraim Hogand
SHEFFIELD and Sarah E. DAVENPORT SHEFFIELD) in 1849 in Lauderdale Co.
AL. They are on the 1850 Franklin Co. AL census in district 5 and near
a Miles Davidson. Don't know if they are related or not.

In 1850: Clayton DAVIDSON age 23, planter with $5000.00 of real
estate. Elmira age 20 born in TN
Ephraim age 3/12 born in AL
Also in the house with Clayton is a Margaret Davidson age 51 born in TN,
Jackson age 32 born in TN, Jenetta age 24 born in TN, Alexch age 20 born
in TN., Mathew age 15 born in TN., Sarah age 12 born in TN. These could
be the Mother of Clayton and his brothers and sisters or Jenette could
be a sister in law.

Clayton and Elmira are in McNairy Co. TN by 1856. On 1860 census they
have children George W. born abt 1853, Allice born abt 1856 in McNairy
Co.TN., Jackson born abt 1859, there was a son Clayton born abt 1861.
Clayton Sr. died in 1862 or 1868. Elmira died in 1914 while living with
a grand daughter Alice WARDLOW WHITAKER. Elmira outlived all her
children.
Any help on the parents of Clayton will be appreciated and will exchange
info.

Seeking the the line of Blair Davidson, b. c1775, who married Dorcas Cunningham in Grainger Co., TN in 1800. Circumstantial evidence suggests that Blair might be the son of a Samuel Davidson who was taxed in Grainger Co. in 1799. And, as many of you might already suspect, the mother of Blair might be of that family. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thankyou. Brian Walls, Columbia, Maryland

My GGGG Grandparents were John DAUGHERTY and Nancy DAVIDSON. Don't know much more except that they already had a child in 1800 and were in Liberty, DeKalb Co (then Smith Co.) not too long after that. Sarah Ellis Davidson did not die before 1752. Spotsylvania Co. Court records show she married to Richard Condron, who was "not of this colony" and had financial problems. Does anyone in your web know what became of Richard and Sarah Ellis Davidson Condron?

George Washington DAVISON b.Oct 22 1876 ARK d. June 26, 1956 Houston Tx (family members say he always said he was born in Pine Bluff Ark, but I have found no records there to support this). Family members recall him talking about a cousin Arthur Melton and an Uncle Jim BROWNING. George Washington DAVISON's death cert. has his father as Jim Davison and mother as Betty BROWNING--both from Ark. Story has it that his parents died and he might have lived with his Uncle Jim BROWNING--which fits what I have found. George married Mary Alice BILBREY in Coryell Co Tx and in 1880 there are three families all together: BROWNING, O'KEEFE, and BILBREY (a O'KEEFE and a BILBREY married and the result was Mary Alice). So it is likely that George went to live with this uncle and met Mary Alice in Coryell Co. Tx. Children of George Washington DAVISON and Mary Alice BILBREY: Florence Elaine, ALma, William George, Olen Carrie, Myrtle Beatrice, Juanita Laverne.
Alma and William both died young, from oil well related things. George Washington was involved with oil wells and was said to have been at Spindletop.
Also, rumor that he studied music at Juliard..I have never found anything to support this.
I would appreciate any help. I am hoping that the names of the BROWNING family and the MELTON family might help locate my George Washington DAVISON--his parents and any siblings that he might have. Thanks, Penny.
