Pension File# S16099 Davidson, Joshua born Apr 1753 place of his birth & names of his parents not given Joshua Davidson enlisted on the Monongahela River in PA 13 Aug 1776, served in Capt James Montgomery's & Van Swearingen's Co's, Col Aeneas Mackey's & Daniel Brodhead's Eighth PA regiment, served as sergeant until the middle of April 1779, when he was promoted to ensign & served as such until 20 Mar 1780, when he resigned his commission. During the service he was in the battles of Bound Brook, Brandywine & Paoli. Was allowed his pension on his application executed 8 Aug 1818 at which time he was a resident of Brown Co OH He referred in 1831 to his wife as aged fifty eight years but did not give her name. Certificate #19844 issued 21 Sep 1833 Rate $175.83 per annum commenced 4 Mar 1831 Ohio Agency Occupation: Millwright 1818 Aug 8 Resident of Brown Co OH 1821 stated children living with him were Jonathan age 34 - entirely unable & incapable by reason of mental & bodily infirmities to contribute to his support Joseph age 28 Rachael age 24 Nancy age 22
