In The Name of God Amen

I Valentine Geiger of Augusta Township in the county of Northumberland and province of Pennsylvania Miller, being weak in body but sound in mind and memory, do make this my last Will and Testament, in the manner following; To wit...

In the first place, I commit my soul to almighty God, who gave it me, hoping for mercy, through the merits of our blessed savioer Jesus Christ, and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent manner,at the discretion of my Execs, and concerning my wordly affairs I dispose of them in the manner following appointing my son Valentine Geiger and Brother Christopher Geiger, sole executors of this my last Will and Testament.

1st. I do leave and bequeath unto my dear beloved wife Margaret Geiger the sum of three hundred fifty pounds lawful money of the Province. To be paid her by my Executors three months after my Decease.

2nd, I do give and bequeath unto my eldest son Jacob Geiger, the sum of Sixty Pounds lawful money of this Province and one Shilling Sterling.

3rd Item, I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Valentine Geiger Jun. the sum of three hundred fifty pounds like lawful money of the this Province.

4th Item. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah Geiger, the sum of three hundred and fifty pounds like of lawful money of this Province.

5th Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Catherine Elizabeth Geiger the sum of two hundred pounds like lawful money of this Province.
br>6th Item I give and Bequeath unto my son Geo. Geiger the sum of two hundred pounds like lawful money of this Province.

It is further my will that my dear beloved wife Margaret Geiger shall receive over and above the Legacy aformentioned my bed, bedding and bedstead and Two Cows to be chosen by her and My Daughter Sarah Geiger shall also receive one bed, bedding and bedstead and one Cow over and above the Legacy left her, As to my Wearing Apparel, I leave it to be divide in equal parts among my children and if any surplus should be found in my effects after discharging the above Legacies and discharging, all my lawfull and just debts.

My will is that the same be divided among the persons hereafter mentioned in proportion to their respective Legacies, and I do by this my last will revoque all former wills wrote and signed by me, acknowledged, this only as my 1st last Will and Testament. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 23 day of May in the year of our lord 1777.

Personally appeared before me the Subscriber Register for the Probate of Will for the county aforementioned Peter Haas and John Sandoz, the two subscribing witnesses of the written will, and being duly sworn. as the law directs, saw Valentine Geiger sign and heard him acknowledge this to be his last Will and Testament.
