---There are three mailing lists at Rootsweb.  The first is [email protected]and it is for all those researching Giger, Gyger, Gieger, Geger, Ciger, Kiger, Kigar, Keiger, Kyger, & Kygar.  This is the main list that all of our researchers should subscribe to in order to compare notes with those researching any spelling of the GEIGER surname.  The second list is [email protected]and it is specifically for those researching this spelling.  The third list is [email protected] which is specifically for researchers of this spelling.  In order to post a message to any of these lists you must be a subscriber to the list on which you wish to post a message.

Instructions for subscribing to GEIGER-L are as follows:

To subscribe in single message mode in which all messages are sent to you individually:  send an e-mail to [email protected] and put "subscribe" (without the quotation marks) and nothing else in the body of the message.  You can leave the subject line blank, or if your e-mail program requires you to put a subject you may put subscribe in the subject box.

To subscribe to the list in Digest mode which means that you will receive several messages compiled together in a single digest:  send a message to [email protected] and put the word "subscribe" (without the quotation marks) and nothing else in the body of the message.  You can leave the subject line blank or if your e-mail program requires you to put a subject you may put subscribe in the subject box.

Once you are subscribed to the list you can post messages to it at the following address:

  [email protected]

Follow the above instructions for subscribing to the [email protected] and also for subscribing to the [email protected]   but substitute the proper listname for each one. For digest mode send your message to: [email protected]or [email protected]

Once you are subscribed to the lists you can post messages to them at the following addresses:

 [email protected]  [email protected]  [email protected]

 If you do not wish to subcribe to the GEIGER, KIGER, or KYGER mailing list, but feel you have a good reason for wanting to post a message to these lists, you may do so with the permission of the listowner. Send your message to: Joan Young
