John Robbins and Rebecca Robbins

John Robbins and Rebecca Robbins

Obituary in the Scottsburg, Indiana Chronicle Wednesday, February 20,1918. Page 1 column 6.

John Robbins better known as "Buck" Robbins died on Monday night of last week at the home of his son-in-law, William Sarver, in Indianapolis, of chronic interstitial nephritis. Aged 88 years. The remains were interred Wednesday at the Scaffold Lick cemetery in this County.

Calculating from the Monday night of last week as stated in the Obituary. John's death was 11 Feb 1918, instead of 04 Feb 1918 as in the Scott County Historical Society Johnson Township Cemetery Records 1999. They also have a note with John and Rebecca that John Robbins md Rebecca J. Chasteen 03/02/1862. While this is true I, William Garard, believe this note belongs with a different John and Rebecca Robbins, since this John "Buck" and Rebecca already had several children before the stated marriage date of 1862.

Obituary in the Scottsburg, Indiana Chronicle Wednesday, June 19,1912. Page 4 column 2.
