Elta Dawson, Clyde's aunt, taught school for a short time. This class picture shows Elta with at least three Dawson relatives in the class -- Clyde (encircled), Pearle, and Vernon. These students all were children of Cliff Dawson, Elta's older brother. The picture is dated 1924; Elta would have been 20 years old at the time and Clyde would have been 13. It was Lincoln School northeast of Ford, Kansas. |
