Irvie Ladd and His Family

Irvin "Irvie" Earl Ladd, son of Charles and Henrietta (Richmond) Ladd, was born 11 July 1883 in Montgomery County, Kansas.  He and Hannah Marie Courtright were married on 24 Dec 1904 in Stillwater, Payne County, Oklahoma.  They had nine children.  Their son Earl, along with his wife Annalee and daughters Patricia and Barbara, wrote and privately published a book entitled "The Past to Remember" in 1982.  It is a treasure trove of information about not only Irvie and Hannah's family but the Ladds of Central Oklahoma.  That work is included here in its entirety. It is in PDF format. If you need to add the ability to read this file type, click here.

A personal note (FEL): When I was a child and our family made its annual trek to the Parkland Cemetery in Lincoln County, Oklahoma on Memorial Day to meet with other Ladd families and decorate graves, a man whom I did not know was always there. Adult family members knew him and visited with him. I eventually learned that he was Earl Ladd, son of Irvie Ladd who was a brother of Elno Boyd Ladd, which makes him my father's first cousin, and that he lived on the west coast. Earl passed away in June of 2013. He and his family and I have maintained occasional contact through the years. His daughters Patricia and Barbara have given permission to make their book available on the Web.
