FS on Windows 2000 This is an email from Phil Jeffrey [[email protected]] sent on April 21, 2000.

Question might be asked does FS work with Windows 2000 ? The answer is yes and no. I did the testing already for the church on Windows 2000 and found several problems that have been documented and will hopefully make the next release of FS. First off lets start with the client side. If you have win95,98 or NT installed and FS is already on the computer and then you do an upgrade it works with a few minor problems.

  1. If you go to a windowized (as apposed to full screen dos) you need to create a special file for the colors as the default comes out with red on purple.
  2. Doing a copy to diskette of the FHLC gives a message that the diskette is bad when's it not. Copy to file then copy that file to a diskette.

If you are doing a new install or want to change the FS install options your out of luck. When you install FS it checks what kind of OS you are running and fails to install if it doesn't come back with a valid defined OS. In the latest FS Windows 2000 is not defined so it will not install. FS development gave me a customized copy to check for others bugs and that one installs but it will not be out for awhile. The same bugs as above are also still in the product.

Hope this helps.
