Thanks for the incredible efforts you have made to capture the history of Porterdale. I live in Covington and am very familiar with Porterdale.  I had a flea market booth for a couple of years at the mill.  The purpose of my email is to share with you a bit of personal history regarding my uncle, Charles E. Taylor.  When my daughter graduated from Newton High in 1991 he visited with us and spent the night.  He wanted to see the mill and I took him there and he really enjoyed the visit because he had not been back since he was a young man in his early 20's.  He told me that when he graduated from Emory  in the 20's his first teaching job was at the High School in Porterdale where he taught for one year.  He lived at the Village Inn for that year. He later returned to Atlanta and taught many years before retiring. He died in  1996.

I would appreciate it if you could post his name on the teacher's roster.

Best regards,

David Taylor
