LynnMy father, Joe Favero grew up in Porterdale. I remember a story that he told growing up. He played hooky from school with several friends. I don't remember what grade he was in. They all decided to go swimming in the Yellow River. One of the boys got caught in the whirl pool. The others were not able to swim out to get him. This story made a big impact on me and I never skipped school. |

She married John King. My grandmother was Myrtle Rose King. She married Joseph Napoleon Favero. They had two children. Dorothy Rose Favero Thacker and Joseph Avery Favero. I have written to you before. My father was born in Porterdale Sept. 27, 1917. I have an older half sister who lives in Covington. My father shared a few stories. He and my Aunt Dorothy decided to run away when they were very little. She had a tricycle and he had a wagon. Their ages were about three and five. I have a picture of my father when he was a young man. I will make a copy and send it to you. I do not know if the Effie King what ran the boarding house is my grand mother.
