Christopher, thanks so much for returning my 'e-mail'. This has been a
difficult line to trace: #1 reason Smith is so common, #2 reason no body
knew anything about this family. My father in law did know the family lived
in Cullman Co, Ala at some point in time. The following is part of my info
to date:
Aaron Joseph Smith b Aug 1864 in Ga; d 30 Aug 1939 Munday, Knox Co, TX
married Georgia Emma Simms ca 1880s b 1864 GA; d unknown date.
Erastus Frasier Smith b 17 Nov 1883 in Cullman Co, Ala; d 25 Aug
1968 in Stephens Co, Okla married Rosa Etta Betts
Ezra D Smith b Mar 1887 in Ga
Odeler A Smith b Sept 1889 in Ga
Rhoda Viola Smith b Oct 1891 in Ga
Fannie O Smith b June 1894 in Ala (Cullman Co ?)
Georgia L Smith b Feb 1897 in Ala
Aaron Benjamin Smith b Oct 1899 in Cullman Co, Ala
Chester L Smith b 1903 in Ala
Jordan A Smith b 1905 in TX
Olly M Smith b ? in OK
I am curious about Ezra and Odeler being born in GA. Do you know where?
Who is Uncle Bennett Aaron Smith? What do you have on Aaron Joseph's
parents? We are related thru the Erastus Frasier line (above). I never did
get the info I downloaded from ancestry.com to come up on my computer. I
made 3 different discs and got an error message on all three; will not read
out. I am so thankful you responded.

Christopher, I think my mind left me sometime last week. I had done some
research after your last e-mail and kept my Aaron Joseph file on my desk
awaiting my reply to you. Just this morning I uncovered the file. Thanks
so much for the info you sent me last time. I was able to locate the family
on the Haralson Co page. Discovered a set of twins (Gabril & Careline) in
this family. Can you tell me what Aaron Joseph's siblings' names were - the
one two years older (female) and the one approx 3 years younger (male)? I
can not read the film good enough to make out their names.
You mentioned Uncle Bennett in your last e-mail. I know nothing about him.
You said you were related to Aaron Joseph thru his brother, Bennett. Did
you have any other info on Ezra D or Odeler A (two of AJ's kids)? Did they
move back to Georgia from Alabama and settle there?
My father in law - Delmar Smith - will be 90 this May. He is AJ 's grandson
by way of Erastus Frasier (AJ's oldest son). I would like to present Delmar
with my family info. Do you have any family pictures (Bennett, etc) that
you would like to share with me? Be more than glad to pay for any prints.

Christopher, just wanted to pass news along to you. Since we last
corresponded (April 1999) I have made contact with several of Aaron Joseph's
descendants. I am in communication with Ezra David's daughter, Josephine
Daniels. She is in her late 80s or early 90s. There were 13 children born
to Aaron Joseph and Georgia Emma Smith. Ezra was born 6 Mar 1887 in Cullman
Co, Ala. He married Mattie Fillmon ca 1910 in Okla, worked for the railroad
and died in Ft Worth, TX in 1954.
Odeler A Smith born 4 Sept 1889 in GA and died 23 Oct 1954 in Fontana,
Calif. She married a man by the name of Will Smith. He shot her leg off in
an accident. By the way, Aaron Joseph's wife, Georgia Emma Simms Smith
died 15 Aug 1910 in Tillman Co, OK. She had red hair with a fiery temper to
match (was not an Indian). I have discovered so much tragedy in this
family. Two of the boys served time in prison, one daughter killed herself.
Odeler and Viola helped their husbands escape from jail. Another son was
shot by his brother-in-law.
I have more info if you would like more on this branch of the Smith tree.
You helped me greatly before. Just wanted to say thanks again and let you
know how I had progressed.
