Note: Visited the Poplar Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery on April 9, 1995. This Cemetery is located on the 9th land district, lot number 60, on Smithfield Rd. about 4 1/2 north of Bowden, Carrol County, Georgia. There are many old graves located on the east side of the very old church, that has recently been renovated but is still obviously old. The church appears to still be sitting on its original foundation, raised off the ground a couple of feet by several pillars made of semi - flat rocks. The cemetery containes many graves for the Smith family, King family, Powell family, Horsley family and many other families of the time. The majority of the graves are of people born between early 1800's and late 1800's.
Aaron and his wife Rhoda are both buried in this cemetery on the third row from the church, but there are several discrepancies from other information that I have. 1) Both names are mispelled, Aaron appears to be spelled Haron and Rhoda is spelled Roda. 2) Aaron's date of birth on the grave is January 16, 1812 compared to LDS records that states date of birth as January 16, 1817. 3) Aaron's date of death on the grave is July 21, 1882 compared to LDS records that states date of death at August 21, 1887. There seems to be some sort of mix up between the 2 and 7. 4) Rhoda's date of death on the grave is March 9, 1894 compared with LDS records that states date of death as April 9, 1894.

Hi Christopher,
I attended a wonderful Smith family reunion, in East Texas last month. Lots of second cousins and their offspring. A few have done genealogy and had info to share. I was surprized to see your name listed in Mrs.McBrides book as a contributor. Several people asked if our family was on line. I had to say yes but explain that there are several variations in the names. I have confirmed that Pinkie Malinda (in that order) was my great grandmothers name and her last name is Sims. (not 2 SS) and Grier Smith is the spelling for GreatGrandPa. I must say that I am disappointed that you have never corrected my Grandfathers name,
Laster Alvin Smith out on line. Alot of people see that and then their records are also incorrect. It is hurtful that someone who claims the same roots would not consider others feelings. I have heard from Angie Smith, from your line I think and she has corrected her info. Please I beg of you to correct this. I think I was very clear when I mentioned it the first time these were people I was very close to and they deserve the respect.
Thankyou!
Melinda Smith Swoboda
