Thomas
Francis Egan, son of Thomas Egan and Mary Lynch, was born
31 March 1881, at Woodford, County Galway, Ireland.
In
October of 1908 he set sail for the United States on the
ship Celtic,
and made his way to St. Louis, Missouri where his and
Dan's sister, Katherine, was living. In February of 1909,
Tom headed off to Grant County, Nebraska and began working
for his brother, Dan.
He
soon had a Kinkaid
on Wild Horse Flats, south of Whitman, Nebraska.
In 1926 he bought a farm at Gretna, Nebraska and worked
it for five years before returning to make his home with
his brother's widow, Lizzie, and children until his death
in 1958.
Thomas
remained a confirmed bachelor his entire life.
