The Kimberling City Bridges in Stone and Taney Co, Missouri
[Return to Main Menu]
The setting: Note the Mabry Ferry on the White River and Wilderness Road, lower left of this map.
Kimberling City was built on the north side of the White River, along the Wilderness Road, now Hwy 13.
A bridge was eventually built in 1927, of course. Later, the current, much larger, higher bridge was built.
In 1957, the Table Rock Dam on the White River flooded this area and the
new dam helped to bury the
old bridge of Kimberling City, putting it the waters of Table Rock Lake forever.
Here is one of the old photographs which show both the 1927 Kimberling Bridge
and the new one that we use today.
They both still exist today, the new one above, and the old one below the
waters of Table Rock Lake.
