Leo was attending Capital City Commercial College in Des Moines during this year. Home ill a lot, however.

Monday, February 24, 1936

Leo went back about 8:30. Nice and warm out. Thawed out all day. At nite bought material for black B.B. bloomers & white blouse. Made them at nite. Helen Bower here awhile. Listened to Joe Parsons, Freddie Bartholemew in “Peter Pan.”

Tuesday, February 25, 1936

Glee Club last period and then practiced S.S. play with Mrs. Christian. Still real nice out. We lost to Manning 29-32. Andy fouled out or we wouldn't have lost.

 

Wednesday, February 26, 1936

Nice in morning but snow. Kept getting colder. Terrible blizzard at nite. Wilbur stayed all night. Listened to Gracie Allen, Fred Allen, fixed my school clothes. To bed early.

 

Thursday, February 27, 1936

Usual work. Warmer out. Glee Club. Went to Shannon 's with Helen B. to have her hair fixed. We met Leora and gave us an ice cream treat. Bought new black sandals. Went to choir practice and cabinet meeting at church at nite.

 

Friday, February 28, 1936

Not very cold out. After school Marian J., Paul and Ruth Arms here a little while. Waited till 10:00 for Manilla. Their girls won and our boys. Home at 1:00. Leo home about 7:00.

 

Saturday, February 29, 1936

Up at 11:00. To school to Sextette. My leg bothered all day. Washed hair, cleaned house. Cloudy but warmer out. To show at nite. Tim MCoy.

Sunday, March 1, 1936

Chet Emery's garage fire at 4:00 a.m. I went up in Leo's overcoat. Went to Lillian's for dinner. Gertrude's there too. League fellowship hour at church at nite. Warm out.
