Monday, Dec 28

Quite cold. Looks like snow. Madonna came in store about 9:30. Were ready to start for California - Pat Christy – going with them. Another Main Street member gone. We've surely had lots of good times together & I'll miss her. Quite busy in am. Counted up dances. I have been to 13 that I danced – a few others where I just watched. Edith here awhile. Went home about 6:00. L Listened to F F Fibber Magee & Molly – “they're noodles, I betcha.” Washed separator & studied shorthand. [ seemed to be practicing writing] F

Tuesday, Dec 29

Up late. Made beds & straightened up house a little bit before work. Lost key so ate in town. It was on the desk. Helped cl clean [fountain pen problems, maybe!] Edith and I home at 4:30 and back at 6:00. Got the groceries, listened to radio. Rainy & warm. Had quite a time deciding what to do. Pete & I had a misunderstanding. Finally got together after we ate & danced. Home at 2:00. “Hambgs & onions,” “if I had to carry you – but might not have come back.” “Tom and Stant”

Wednesday, Dec 30

Real rainy out and getting colder. Studied penmanship. Stayed in with Edith for supper. She & Don A., Don W., & I played rummey at Kitty's & then went to free western show. Home with Dad & Buzz. Got new mittens and stocking cap.

Thursday, Dec 31

Cleaned up stairs a little. Wore ski pants. Got water at Lund 's and washed my hair. Wore jumper & satin blouse to Carroll. Pete & I went up alone. In front of library. Pete has an awful cold. Everyone at Carroll from Coon. More fun. Pete, Don A., Lloyd J., Dick P., Squeak V., Ed Kult, Elmer. K.M at 12:00. Our third Anniversary.

[Fancy circle around the date]

Dancing at Carroll to Laurence Welk. With Pete, k.m. at 12:00. Had a keen time: Pete, Don, Lloyd J., Squeak V., Ed Kult, Dick P. Home at 3:00. "He likes girls who live near by so he doesn't have to drive so much or far." "Good joke about college boy." Squeak says his heart goes "pitty-pat" everytime he sees me. He's going to try to beat Pete's time. Had a little too much. Slept till 9:30. Cleaned the house & did big ironing. Embroidered 'till 9:00 & then did dishes & went to bed. Surely stiff from exercising yesterday.
