Monday, Aug 10

Wilbur back again. Not so hot out. Did up work & then fixed my hair. Ruth called. I went in town to Ruth's in pm. Prissy came & I took Ruth & Lucy down town. Saw Ted Shannon & Jean K. Stopped in at Lunds on way home. Edith's birthday. At nite went to dance with Lunds! Little Joe Hart. Surely good. Pete Smith, Elmer Lund, Dick P., Audubon, Kenny Beebe & others.

Tuesday, Aug 11

Rather cloudy most of day – got rained out last nite but it didn't mean much. Surely sleepy all day long. A little black under the eyes. After the dishes were done I laid down on floor and slept from 2:30 till 5:30. Got up and got supper. Mom rubbed Leo's head. He felt better. Washed up and made all beds. To be about 9:00. Ruth called while we were eating supper.

Wednesday, Aug 12

Did up house good. Leo up and around a little bit. Cleaned up after dinner & went in and had my teeth cleaned at Weber's. Then up to Ruth's. To chicken supper at church. Surely full and silly (sp?) afterwards. Wore Ruth's blue net dress. Down town with V-8. Ida out home in truck. Penny & Dick got in. Saw kids drinking in park. Took Ruth home. Drove home alone about 11:00. All slept on yard.

Thursday, Aug 13

Up at 5:30. Got work done up real early. Took Bussy to Doc. Had sore eye. Ruth out home with me and then I ate dinner at their house. Paul Price there. Rode around in pm. Down town. Ate supper there. Mom called that Leo was bad. I hurried home with the car & we bro't him down here. I slept in his room. Dad went home. Got veg. soup for Leo. Slept good on cot.

Friday, Aug 14

Awake at 7:30. Leo operated on about 10:00. I didn't care to stay. He surely hated the either but took it good. Only two stiches. Met Retta Boyden. Saw Priscilla. Leo came out of it pretty well. Dad came in pm. He didn't get any water or air. He smelled terribly of ether. Helen, the fool, was here awhile. He didn't sleep at all but rested well. Retta slept with me on cot. One of us were up nearly all the time. I threw up at evening. To bed early.

Saturday, Aug 15

Up early. Leo feeling pretty good. Moved to North window. Got water & rinsing. Had bath & clean bed. Lots up town. Bought some things at store. Ate at Clara Bolger café. I was alone with Leo. Went to bed late. Lots of traffic & noise. He slept quite well. Saw Keith McNurlen.

Sunday, Aug 16

Up early & cleaned the rooms good. Gave Leo bath & clean sheet. Folks here at 12:00. Leo got chicken broth but didn't like. We had chicken sandwiches. Ida, Buss & I to “Green Pastures.” Terribly monotonous. Folks home at 7:00. To bed late. Good day.
