Monday, Aug 3

Slept on porch. Straightened up cottage. Met Swede, iceman, Bud, deputy & Hop, music teacher. Swede ate with us. “Hallelujah.” Were going to make ice cream but popped corn instead. Went boating! Wore red slacks & white sweater & went skating. Met Gowrie kids. Threshing crew skating. Card tricks. Hired boat! Met Virgie Frazier.

Tuesday, Aug 4

Swede got us a mattress from No. 10. I set hair nearly all day for dance. Swede, Bud there again. In pm. girls went over to dance hall. Olive Jean stayed home & slept. I played piano in hall while they danced. Hap there playing too. Cleaned up & fixed all kid's hair & went to dance at night. Danced with Kenny L., little guy, kid from Payton, Erna, Swede. Talked to “Red of Rink.” Drove Kenny's car, went boating & walked till 4:00 am. 3 blankets on 1 lawn.

Wednesday, Aug 5

Cleaned cabin. Helen J., Edith L. & went for milk before breakfast. Didn't get any. Rested all morning. Read, straightened up suitcases. Elsie came after dinner. Olive Jean & Helen left. Seemed so lonesome when they left. Took pictures.[see last Sunday!!] They brought me an ice cream cone. Went walking, we 5. Cleaned up wore red slacks, zipper blouse to skate in. Leo came at 8:30. Skated till 10:30. Belle Trio, with manager Carlson, farmer & lots of others keen fun! I drove home. Stopped at Scranton a minute. Home at 12:00.

Thursday, Aug 6

Seemed so queer to be home again. I didn't think this day would ever come last week. Cleaned house. Drove to town with Dad after Ktx. Started walking but Prissy picked me up. Wrote much owed letters. Wilbur here. Had Hap's bony fish! Did exercises & went to bed in yard real early. To Margie Schulze's shower with Edith Lund at Paul Alex's.

Friday, Aug 7

Cleaned house good. Washed & ironed all of my things and the other folks ironing. Had a little trouble with iron at first but went allright after we got it started. Read & at nite Dad, Wilbur, Bussy went in to town for table Dad got at sale. I went to bed on yard about 8:30.

Saturday, Aug 8

Cleaned the house & did usual work. Baked choc. cake & Mom made suet pudding. I went to town in pm. after groceries, medicine & everything else. Talked to Jean & Marian. At nite made Choc. ice cream in mew freezer. I went in & got Ida & bro't her out here. Lil's & Del here awhile at nite.

Sunday, Aug 9

Real hot again. Did up work & then read. Had chicken. Leo in bed. After dinner I typed off recipes. Carrolton school burned last nite. Thurman & Marian T. out here on horses in pm. Surely hot. Didn't do anything at night.
