Monday, June 1

Had the queerest feeling all day as if every thing & every one knew about last nite. Every paper I looked at advertised Plymouths, every song I heard reminded me of it. I heard the word Wallace about a thousand times. Last nite I saw the speedometer change to “60100.” Aunt Lil's were here for dinner and they kidded me as usual. I could hardly stand it. I fixed my letters & desk full of souvenirs and then went to bed. Surely rained. Leo & Bussy slept in north room on floor. Finally went to sleep.

Tuesday, June 2

Made blue batiste dress. Mom washed some things. Surely cooled off after rain. I about froze all day. At nite I cleaned up and we all went to the bank nite show, “Whipsaw” with Spencer Tracy & Myrna Loy. Surely was good! Jewel thiefs & detectives story. Really clever.

Cooley surely looked funny without his shirt on pitching horse shoes.

Grandma better!

Wednesday, June 3

Still cool. Washed 10 sheets in morning. After dinner cleaned the whole house & then cleaned up myself. Folks & aunt Lucille went to Carroll to see Grandma. Mom holding her breath while getting into my dress. Did dishes, then listened to Hit Parade & cleaned Bussy. Leo up town with Ida & I'm alone. I can't even write him. Kult girl here to see my “Culottes.” Folks home at 9:30. Cleaned Bussy and played ball with Bussy.

Thursday, June 4

Up at 8:00. Fixed up the house and then ironed rest of the day. Surely tired! Fixed over my pink satin blouse into short sleves. Blue shirt & whit blouse. Went to choir practice. Huff directed. Helen Watkins was there. Went to show afterwards. Harold Lloyd “Milky Way.” “1-2-Boo” – “1-2-Boo” - - - Folks had been to Louise's. I washed dishes before I went to choir.

Still rather cool out! Washed my hair in pm.

Friday, June 5

Rather tired all day. Made a white cake. Mom made oatmeal cookies in am. In pm. she & I cleaned upstairs closet & sorted over cloth. Lot of fun – “sliver worn,” “goo-goo,” “tuss;” Buzz didn't want to practice for children's day but we finally got him to go. Found kittens in Mrs. Shaver's wood shed. Up to school after my green jacket. Talked to Christian about Ames . Rainy & cloudy & cool at nite. Listened to Hollywood Hotel & read letters upstairs.

Saturday, June 6

Rather cloudy in am. Cleaned up the house, curled my hair, took bath and then Bugger, Yippy, Happy came down. Waited from 3-4 for Huff. Got there 6:30. Saw Arnold , Phil, Elhorn, Bone, Crandall, etc. Short took us to school & then to dance. Dances with Arnold & Lyle Weider x x & then home.

Sunday, June 7

Slept ‘till ten. Went to church & then up to Edna's. Surely was tired. Grandma better. Home at 6:30. Buss & I went to “Colleen.” Pretty fair. Decided to move out on farm.
