Monday, May 4

Real keen day out. Basketball and then Pricilla and I went down town bought blue taffeta. After supper she came & got me and we went up to her house. I cut out my cape. Home about 9:30.

 

Tuesday, May 5

Real keen day. After supper went over and talked to Mrs Huff watching men play horse shoe at Cooley's. Jean K. came and we went skating. Up to school house. Heard play practice. Jrs. Fixing gym for banquet. Darrell H's car. Went down & watched dance. Marian T., Lloyd J., Darrell & I went & got ice cream. Took awfullest road up by Bob Pratricks. More fun! Home 10:30.

Cooley's lived in the Parsonage, down the block west of Kinnick's
School was a few blocks north

 

Wednesday, May 6

Real warm out. Went and got Josie's picoting shears and made ruffles at Priscilla's after school. Finished my cape and then Bussy and I went to “Dark Angels.” Was it ever grand. War picture. Did I cry!

Thursday, May 7

Real nice out. Came home 4 th period. Didn't have Home Ec. Mr. Cooley helped me with my speech. With Bugger & Helen after school. Took bath & was ready by 6:00 when Helen & Leora came after me. Had a keen time. Went to Manning. Home about 2:00.

 

Friday, May 8

Really sleepy during schooltime. [Taught – crossed out] Watched 8 th grade country kids while they took their exams. No Home Ec or Grammar. Home at 3:00. Fixed Betty Coder's hair. Bussy has chicken pox. Mom and I planted flowers. After supper over at Cooley's watching horseshoe. Whole mess playing. Leo made $8.00 at Keisters.

 

Saturday, May 9

Rained last nite and most of the day. Cleaned whole house. Ironed 2 curtains. Bussy still scratching.

 

Sunday, May 10

Didn't go to church. Mom did & I stayed with Buzz. Folks went to Lucille's in pm. I did dishes and walked up to Prissy's. There ‘till 6:00. Went to League & then to “Snowed Under.”
