Notes for Dorothy Pike:

Dorothy and family, father John Pike, brother John, Robert, Israel and sister Anne Pike came from Langford, County Wilts in the ship James of Bristol and settled in Newbury, p. 138 Planters of the Commonwealth 1620 - 1640 and the ships which brought them, year 1635.

Inc. Baltimore 1985).) 1677 (Source: Clarence Almon Torrey, New England Marriages prior to 1700,  (Genealogical Publishing Co. Inc. Baltimore 1985).), daughter of William Morse.  She was born 14 Feb 1650/51 in Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts (Source: New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS), Massachusetts Vital Records to 1850, "Electronic."), and died in Colleton Co., South Carolina.

Abigail Morse married second, Moses Pingrey and had a daughter named Abigail Pingren born 11 Nov 1695, Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts.  Moses left a will dated 1696/97 stating that he was going to South Carolina to join his wife who was already resident there.

Notes for Daughter Hendrick:

The vital records record the births of two daughters without giving their names.  One of them was Dorothy.  The other I have not located.  She could be a Whippey since Timothy apparently left land to the children of William Whippey. Or she could be Jane the wife of Royal Spry.

Notes for William Hendrick:

In 1699 Purchase Spry widow of Henry Spry was executor of his estate.  Purchase Spry married William Hendricks,   She died around 1737.   Purchase and a Timothy Hendricks left wills which are now lost. Both named the Wiltown Presbyterian Church in their wills.   William Hendricks died in 1739

Purchase Spry Hendricks was the mother of Royall Spry who died around 1760 and the mother of Purchase Berry the wife of James Berry.

Notes for Timothy Hendrick:

He died leaving a will which is now lost.  In that will he left a legacy to the Wiltown Congregation which his brother William donated per the will.  Also Timothy apparently left land to William and Joseph Whippey children of William Whippey deceased.  When the Whippey's sold the land in 1741, a Mary Whippey signed a dower release.  Is Mary a sister to Timothy?

Memorial of a parcel of Land conveyed by virtue of lease & release bearing date the 8th day of July 1732 in the 6th year of the reign of King George the Second for in consideration of 5 shillings from Wm. HENDRICK to John HENDRICK in Trust for Dorothy WEBB of Charleston during her life for her sole benefit and use and at her death to be disposed of as she in her life time Shall by any instrument in writing under her hand and seal in presences of three or more creditable witnesses or by her last will & testament of said Dorothy WEBB then to the use of her daughter Mary SACHERERVILLE wife of Thomas SACHERERVILLE of Colleton County planter and Sarah CASWELL wife of John CASWELL of Colleton County planter & Annibel SEVENSON to be equally divided between them share and share alike and to their heirs and assigns forever which said parcel of land is part of a plantation commonly called Ratsberry Point situate lying and being in the parish of Saint Philips Charlestown in Berkley County cont of seventy five foot English Measure fronting toward the North East and by East on a marsh and going backwards in the same breadth of seventy five feet towards the south west and by west 200 feet that is to say from the point line forty feet and there leaving twenty feet for street or passage and then going past this point the said line towards the said SW by W 160 feet more which said parcel of land is butting and bounding on the said point on the said march on the SE by South on land belonging to John SCOTT of Charles Town So. Whereas (see page 284) Mathew Bee, planter, of Colleton Co. , owned 2313 a., died intestate leaving widow Dorothy, 1 son Joseph who died under age & 3 daughters, Mary the eldest married Thomas  Sacheverill Sarah the second married John Caswell, & Martha the youngest married John Arnold & whereas widow Dorothy married William Stevenson & they had 1 daughter Anniball, & whereas widow Dorothy was agreed that 300 a. be given to Anniball & the rest apportioned to the 3 daughters which division was made by Capt. C. 1671-1779, American Legal Records Volume 6, in the SC Chancery Court record is a reference to Joseph Spry and Martha Reilly Infants per prochein amy V. William Donnom et ux and James Hendrick  Representatives of Daniel Hendrick deceased.  This leads me to believe that Mary is the daughter of Daniel Hendrick.., (2) Will of Royal Spry, Jan 1746., (3) New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS), Massachusetts Vital Records to 1850, "Electronic.") was born 06 Feb 1683/84 in Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts (Source: New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS), Massachusetts Vital Records to 1850, "Electronic."), and died Bet. 30 Jun 1736 - 20 Jan 1739/40 in Colleton County, South Carolina (Source: South Carolina Deed Abstracts 1719 - 1772 Vol ll, p. 41.).  He married Maybe A Spry.

In 1720/21 Daniel Hendrick was the tax collector for the east side of the PonPon River

In John Baptista Ashe's will dated 1731, Daniel is listed as a shoemaker and owed 40 pounds.

Book W. p. 444 20 Jan 1740 Bill of Sale,  William Levingston & Royall Spry executors of will of Daniel Hendrick dated 30 June 1738 to George Jackson, planter, all of Colleton Co. for L 1000 currency 3 tracts of 100 a each & 1 unknown acreage.  Whereas, Gov Charles Craven & the Lords Proprietors on 21 Mar 1715/16  granted Daniel Hendrick 100 a. in Colleton Co. according to plat; & whereas Royall Spry, planter of Pon Pon, Colleton Co., on 4 June 1723 sold Daniel Hendrick 100 a., & whereas Samuel Williams and Hannah his wife, of Colleton Co., by L&R, 14 &15 Apr 1737 sold Daniel Hendrick a plantation originally granted to John Penny; & with the proviso that Willliams should procure for Hendrick of his (Samuel Williams) & Hannah's (his wife) share in said plantation (number of a. unknown): & whereas William Ferguson, planter, of Colleton Co., on 25 Apr 1739 sold Hendrick 100 a. (part of 200 a. which he purchased from Royall Spry): now Hendricks's executors sell to Jackson, Ruth Witherspoon, John Harris. Before James Bullock, J.P. Robert Austin, Pub. Reg.

The Hendricks name shows up in the records of Wiltown. Both Timothy and Daniel Hendricks are listed in the Wiltown Church Records. Daniel filed his first Memorial in 1715.  He was dead by the time that Royal Spry made his will leaving land that Royal bought from Daniel to Daniel's son James.    In deed dated 1755 James Hendrick is selling land left him by is uncle Royal Spry.

In 1749 Joseph Spry and his sister Martha Reilly are suing James Hendricks and William Donnom and Wife Mary as representatives of Daniel Hendricks.  The Sprys are also suing Thomas Sacherville the executor of Royall Spry's will.  Mary wife of William Donnom is the daughter of Daniel Hendricks.

In 1749 Joseph Spry and his sister Martha Reilly are suing James Hendricks and William Donnom and Wife Mary as representatives of Daniel Hendricks.  The Sprys are also suing Thomas Sacherville the executor of Royall Spry's will.
