Montague County Cemeteries
New Harp Cemetery

New Harp
Cemetery is directly north of Decatur on the map. It's not very far over the
north Wise County line. It's between the towns of Alvord and Forestburg. From
Alvord turn at traffic light going to Forestburg FM1655. When you reach the
Montague Co. line, it will be about 5 miles on the right. Turn at Cemetery Sign
to the right onto a dirt road that says Berkley Ranch.
Follow the road about a mile to Parker Dairy Ranch Road. Follow this road
about a mile to New Harp Community Center. It is an old white Church Building.

This survey was started at the first gate and all the way to the back of the
cemetery working our way up to the very front.
This
survey was compared to a survey taken by Thelma Rickard in 1988. Some of the
markers that were present in 1988 no longer exist as noted.
