Dawson & Prairie Point Cemeteries

Dawson and Prairie Point Cemeteries are located near the same intersection about half way between Chico and Alvord. From Chico go north on Hwy 101 and then right on CR 1480 to CR 1560. From Alvord go south on FmRd 1655 and then right on CR 1480 to CR 1560 (a four way stop)

Dawson has no name on the gate but is right on the road (CR 1480). It's a rather large area but only had 20 new type headstones in September of 2000.

Prairie Point is difficult to find because it's up a slight hill behind a house. The house is on the northwest corner of the intersection.

The center part of the cemetery was mowed and cleared but the sides and back were deep woods and brush. I tried to search the woods as best I could and found 33 headstones in September of 2000.

I started in the southeast corner and numbered the headstones in rows but got out of order when I got back in the woods.
