Cottondale Cemetery

    To find Cottondale Cemetery go out Fm Rd 2123 to CR 3585 (by the Diamond Shamrock Grocery). Go south on CR 3585 about a hundred yards and turn right on CR 3571. The cemetery is behind the Community Chapel.

    The gate has the date 1885 on it and there's a sign that gives Roy H. Morris 940-969-3423 as a contact name for lot information.

    This cemetery is beautifully laid out with cement roads and walks between the rows. We used the roads to divide the cemetery into 4 sections and the cement walks to number our rows.

    At the time of our survey in March of 2000 there were 758 headstones.

    Several of the headstones were only small markers with limited information on them. We included what we could read.

   This picture shows the chapel on the east side of the cemetery.

    Please request headstone pictures if you have any questions about spelling or date errors. We guarantee many mistakes.
