Service for Kenneth W. Hall, 42, of Decatur, was to be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Coker-Hawkins Chapel. The Rev. Gerre Joiner and Rev. Kent Watson were to officiate. Burial was to be at Claude Cemetery in Claude on Thursday, Sept. 27.
Hall died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, in Decatur.
Born July 7, 1965, in Decatur, to Elmer D. and Patsy Loren Cummins Hall, he married Kelley Denice Davidson Aug. 1, 1999. He was a mechanic.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Kolby Hall, of Decatur; two daughters, Kelsey Hall of Decatur and MacKensey Davidson of Ponder; a brother, Mark Hall and wife, Chris, of Canyon; mother, Pat Simons and husband, Jim, of Claude; nieces, McKinsey and Kayla Hall of Canyon.

Hamm, W.A. ‘Bill’

Graveside service for W.A. “Bill” Hamm, 84, of Decatur will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at Rosston Cemetery in Era. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Hamm died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, in Decatur.
Born July 1, 1923, in Estelle to Robert Edgar and Ara Maybelle Hamm, he was a retired court reporter.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Hardy, Dayle Weston

Funeral for Dayle Weston Hardy, 31, of Plano and formerly of Wise County will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 12, at Prestonwood Baptist Church, located at 6801 W. Park Boulevard in Plano. Bill Paxton will officiate. Burial will follow at Boyd Cemetery.
Visitation was to be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, located at 2525 Central Expressway North in Allen. An online registry is available at the Web site www.tjmfuneral.com.
Hardy died Saturday, July 7, 2007, in Dallas.
Born July 16, 1975, in Fort Worth to Dayle Lewis and Nancy Gwen (Pope) Hardy, he was a 1993 graduate of Boyd High School and attended Texas A&M University. He married Ashlee Dawn Cate on June 17, 2000, in Mansfield.
He began his law enforcement career with the Wise County Sheriff Department. He transferred to the Plano Police Department where he served in the motorcycle section of the traffic unit. He also served as captain of the Howe Volunteer Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
He is survived by his wife, Ashlee; two daughters, Cora Elizabeth and Caitlyn Jewel; his parents, Dayle and Sandy Hardy of Decatur; a sister, Leslie Maynard of Springtown; and two grandmothers, Cora Maxine Hardy of Fort Worth and Geraldine Barnes of Mansfield.

Harris died Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, in Fort Worth.
Born Dec. 22, 1947, to John Oscar and Edna Mae Harris in Grayburg, he was a truck driver and a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Newark.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Viola Harris of Boyd; a son, Bobby Gorman and wife, Amanda, of Azle; three daughters, Ann Shannon and husband, Nathan, of Victoria, Marcy Kocsardy and husband, Atilla, of Tulsa, Okla., and Melonie Varnell and husband, Clifford, of Shawnee, Okla.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers; and four sisters.

A memorial service for Lillian Ruth Harshman, 51, of Paradise, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at the Church of the Living God in Cottondale.
Harshman died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007, at the Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth.
She was born June 7, 1956, in Ithaca, N.Y.
She is survived by her mother, Lillian White; a son, Erik; two daughters, Elizabeth and Jennifer; a brother, Bobby; a sister, Loraine; and two grandchildren.

Harvick-Phillips, Bernice

Funeral for Bernice “Becie” Harvick-Phillips, 92, of Bridgeport, was Oct. 12 at Hawkins Funeral Chapel with David Burrows officiating. Burial was at East Bridgeport Cemetery.
Phillips died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, in Decatur.
Born Aug. 7, 1915, in Chico, to Gayle and Annie McDaniel Wood, she was a lifetime resident of Bridgeport and a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Bridgeport. She was also a member of the Esther Sunday school class and the Bridgeport Senior Citizens.
Bernice was preceded in death by two husbands, James W. Harvick and C.D. Phillips; two sisters, Methel Meek and Opal Petty; and two brothers, Charles and Dalton Wood.
She is survived by her son, Lynwood Harvick and wife, Karen, of Bridgeport; grandson, Jason Harvick and wife, Dena, of Bridgeport; granddaughters, Jayme Harvick and fiancé, Jason Evans, of Fort Worth and Kasey Lynn Walraven of Bridgeport.
Pallbearers were G.B. Funk, Robert Meek, Mark Cantrell, Cal Bayley, Trevor Meek and Chris Funk.

Graveside service for Dillard Lee Hatley, 84, of Boyd was Friday, July 20, at Boyd Cemetery with the Rev. Darryl Hatley officiating.
Hatley died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, in Boyd.
Born May 19, 1923, in Boyd to John Riley and Lizzie (North) Hatley, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retired bricklayer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Lee (Lankford) Hatley and a sister, Mildred Vess.
He is survived by five daughters, Judy Greer, Linda Carson of Lawton, Okla., and Nancy Hays, Melissa Hays and Anita Hays, all of Boyd; five sons, David Hatley, Alvin Hatley, Tim Hatley and Robert Hatley and wife, Martha, all of Boyd and Buddy Hatley of Azle; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Willie and Darryl Hatley; and a sister, Faye Burchfield.

Hatley died Wednesday, June 27, 2007, in Bridgeport.
Born August 6, 1931, in Ashville, N.C., to Robert and Nancy (Reed) Lankford, she was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Boyd.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hatley; six brothers, Bud, Louis, Bobby, Joe, Arnold and Vernon Lankford; and a sister, Wilma Hatley.
She is survived by a son, Jonathan Woods and wife, Bonnie, of Alvarado; a grandson, Marty Woods and wife, Kristen, of Azle; four great-grandchildren, Autumn, Marcie, Samantha and Jonathan; two brothers, Art and Ronald Lankford; and a sister, Martha Brown.

Haun, Arlis Daniel
1916-2007
Funeral for Arlis Daniel Haun, 91, of Weatherford was to be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Denton Funeral Home chapel in Denton. Burial was to follow at Justin Cemetery in Justin. Visitation was to be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Haun died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007 in Weatherford.
Born in Frisco, on April 2, 1916, he married Johnnie Ruth Pennington on May 13, 1939. The Hauns made their home in Rhome for almost 50 years. He worked at Burris Mills and owned Haun Plumbing and Electric Company in Rhome. He moved to Weatherford in 1991.
Haun was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rhome until 1991 and was a charter member of the Fairview Community Club. He was an active member of the church and a Sunday school teacher. When he moved to Weatherford, he joined the First Baptist Church there.
Arlis was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers, and a sister.
He is survived by a daughter, Dixie Henson and husband, Kenneth; a grandson, Danny Henson and wife, Kalynne; and two great-grandsons, Kale and Keaton Henson.

Hebisen, Ray Oscar

A private service was held for Ray Oscar Hebisen, 86, of Paradise. Burial was at Cottondale Cemetery. The Rev. Craig Erb officiated.
Hebisen died Wednesday, April 4, 2007, in Decatur.
Born May 5, 1920, in Wichita Falls, he was retired from the military. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a longtime caretaker of Cottondale Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vesta May (Coffman) Hebisen.
He is survived by his companion, Ruby Farley of Decatur, and two sisters-in-law, Reba Drennan of Fort Worth and Frances Nesmith of Wichita Falls.

Heithecker died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at her home in Decatur.
Born Nov. 4, 1962, in Lawton, Okla., to James Raney and Nancy Morgan, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Kirk Heithecker of Decatur; a son, Brenton Cook of Texarkana, Ark.; a daughter, Nichole Cook of Lubbock; and father, James Raney of Arkansas.

Riley died Oct. 24, 2007, in Decatur. He was born the same day in Decatur.

Born Aug. 29, 1922, in Bradford, Penn., to Frank and Mildred Cristman Ludwig, she was a retired payroll clerk for the U.S. Navy in Port Hueneme, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William “Bill” Hickey; a brother, Jack Ludwig; and two sisters, Barbara Stevens and Shirley Dahl.
She is survived by a brother, Dick Ludwig and wife, Diana, of Oxnard, Calif.

Hicks died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, in Houston.
Born March 20, 1958, to Coy and Lola Gwin Wadsworth in Bowie, she married Paul Hicks Dec. 30, 1978, at Central Baptist Church in Bowie. She graduated from Bowie High School and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Janelle Roberts.

Hicks died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, in Decatur.
Born June 8, 1935, in Dryden, N.Y., he was a welder for Larwel Industries and Wise Welding. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force and was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Estalla Banta, and a son, James Copeland.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Charlotte Hicks; five sons, John Deweese, Karl Deweese, Jerry Copeland and wife, Jaime, Frank Copeland and wife, Linda, and Mikel Hicks; two daughters, Charlotte Steele and Charlotte Fitzgerald and husband, Billy; a daughter-in-law, Paula Talley; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral for Jesse Milton High, 92, formerly of Justin, will be at 10 a.m., Friday May 4, at the Justin Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Justin Cemetery. The Rev. Jason Sadler will officiate the service. Visitation will be before the funeral from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at the church.
High died Saturday, April 28, 2007, at Southern Knights Assisted Living Home in Tomball.
Born Dec. 3, 1914, to Earl and Martha High, he had recently relocated to Tomball to be near family. He was a lifelong resident of Justin, where he spent his life operating the farm where he was raised. He was a member of the Justin Baptist Church, Farm Bureau of Denton County and the Cattleman’s Association. He attended and played football at Decatur Baptist College and was an advocate of public education and a supporter of the Northwest Independent School District.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jan Michael, who died at birth, and wife, Martha Pennington.
He is survived by two sons, Benny C. High and wife, Nancy, of Woodstock, Ga., and Manuel R. High and wife, Jackie, of Spring; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Born Jan. 29, 1938, in Matador to Clay and Jimmie Hines, he was a self-employed carpenter.
He is survived by his sons, Tracy Hines and wife, Debi, of Decatur, Kevin Hines of Dallas and Ty Hines and his wife, Crystal, of Fort Worth; a daughter, Kim Hines; grandchildren, A.J., Whitney, Bryce and C.C.; his sisters, Norma Bryant and Shirley Meadows, both of Dallas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Hixson, Charles Oliver

Graveside service for Charles Oliver Hixson, 93, of Decatur will be at 3 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2007, at Oaklawn Cemetery with Gerre Joiner officiating.
Hixson died Thursday, July 26, 2007, in Lewisville.
Born Dec. 8, 1913, in Chalk Mountain to Anderson and Elizabeth West Hixson, he retired from the maintenance department of the San Antonio schools. He married Doris Fest May 20, 1937, in San Antonio. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Wise County Veterans and the Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Les Hixson of Lewisville and Chuck Hixson and wife, Roxanne, of Dallas; granddaughters Shelley Johnson, Jenni Hixson and Natalie Heskett; great-granddaughters Reese Johnson and Carly Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Johnson, Tim Heskett, Jim Richards, Roland Davis and Jim Archer.

Hobbs, Donna Barbara Chambers

Memorial service for Donna Barbara Chambers Hobbs, 74, of Crowley was to be Wednesday, May 30, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel at St. Francis Village in Crowley with the Rev. Ken Parlin officiating. Her body was cremated.
Hobbs died Friday, May 25, 2007, in Crowley.
Born Febr.14, 1933, in Fort Worth, she was an x-ray technician and a member of St. Francis Protestant Church. She enjoyed reading, sewing and traveling.
She was preceded in death by husband C.A. Hobbs.
She is survived by a son, Michael Chambers and wife Jana; a daughter, Sondra Wacasey and husband Rick of Decatur; brothers, Jack, Johnny and Jimmy Rust; and grandchildren, Brian and Chris Wacasey, Zachary Lobdel and Missy Chambers.

Hobson, William Chandos, Jr.

Funeral for William Chandos Hobson Jr., 85, of Fort Worth was to be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rosemont Church of Christ. Burial was to follow at Greenwood Memorial Park.
Hobson died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, in Fort Worth.
Born Aug. 15, 1922, in Decatur, to Chan and Mattie Hobson, he graduated from Decatur High School as valedictorian and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Rosemont Church of Christ.
In 1974 he and his wife, Joyce LeFan Hobson, started Beco Service Inc., an air conditioning and heating business where he served as owner and president for 32 years. He was a certificate member of R.S.E.S. and a lifetime member of ASHRAE.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2000.
He is survived by two sons, William C. “Bill” Hobson III and wife, Susan, of Palmer and John Hobson of Perrin; a daughter, Chanda Harville and husband, Bruce, of Fort Worth; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were to be Bill Bell, Chris Koonce, Patrick Jackson, Jason Norris, Robert Ramos and Mike Turner and the employees of Beco Service Inc. Honorary pallbearer was to be Rick Aguirre.

Hodges died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, in Alvord.
Born May 2, 1942, in Decatur to Earl Lee and Beulah Kuykendall Hodges, he was an oilfield consultant.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Calvin Hodges, and an infant brother.
Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Pollard and husband, Mark, of Alvord and Janet Beard and husband, Scotty, of Tarskerwood, Ark.; a son, Len Hodges of Houma, La.; his former wife, Jan Hodges; grandchildren Adrienne Hodges, David Hodges, Paul Beard, Chris Beard, Cody Beard, Nikki Beard and Lindsey Pollard; brothers, Royce Hodges and wife, Cotton, of Alvord and Jimmy Hodges and wife, Melba, of Irving; and sisters, Thelma Clower of Alvord and Anita Hale and husband, Gene, of Jacksboro.

Born Feb. 17, 1936, in Bakersfield, Calif., to Charles Francis Hogue and Pearl Dillo, he worked in the oilfield industry as a tool pusher.
He is survived by a daughter, Glenda Brown and husband, Mike, of Odessa; a son, Glen Hogue Jr. of Odessa; five grandchildren, Josh, Jessica, Samantha, Christy and Michelle; and several brothers and sisters.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at Earth Cemetery. Dr. Thomas Brumett will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Holland died Tuesday, May 15, 2007, in Watauga.
Born April 21, 1927, he was a farmer. He was a member of the Lion’s Club and was called Decatur High School’s No. 1 fan by students, teachers, administrators, coaches and parents.
He is survived by a son, Craig Holland and wife, Linda; two daughters, Debbie Rife and husband, Howard, and Pam Holland; a sister, Joyce Brantley; four grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Hal Reese, Tim Woodruff, Alan White, Eric Seal, Ronnie Walker and Mike Baker. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the First United Methodist Church men’s Sunday school class.

Hollis died Sunday, March 25, 2007, in Decatur.
Born Feb. 4, 1928, in Petrolia to Benjamin and Rosie (Mitchell) Patterson, she was a homemaker. She married Amos Lee Hollis on Jan. 1, 1946, in Henrietta.
She was preceded in death by her husband; five brothers, Jewel, Lloyd, Melvin, Orville and James; and a sister, Molea.

He worked at Swift Packing Company for 20 years and when Swift sold in 1960, he went to school to become a barber. In 1978, Houchins donated the land for the Carpenter Street Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Maurine Houchins of Bridgeport.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Cecil Huddleston and a sister, Opal Lough.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Helen Huddleston of Boyd; a son, Bill Huddleston and wife Pam of Decatur; a grandson, Chad Huddleston and wife Kristen of Decatur; a granddaughter, Kimberly Huddleston of Decatur; a brother, Richardson Huddleston of Chico; and a sister, Juanita Boyett of Wichita Falls.

Hudson, Edgbert Thomas
1918-2007
He suffered daily beatings by the Japanese. He endured the pain of maggots in his toe to ward off gangrene in his ulcerated foot. After months of building a railroad and bridges by hand in the jungle, he felt his clothes disintegrate from his body. Upon his return home, he battled malaria and depression. Edgbert Thomas Hudson, 89, is now at peace.
Wise County's last surviving member of Headquarters Battery, 2nd Battalion, 131st Field Artillery of the 36th Division, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at his home on Lake Bridgeport.
The 400 soldiers from Wise County, Jacksboro, Wichita Falls and Abilene became known as the Lost Battalion. Their whereabouts was unknown for 3 1/2 years as prisoners of war of the Japanese on Java. Their experience has been chronicled in books and movies. Ed Hudson lived those experiences and was among the lucky few who returned home to tell about it. Like his comrades, he found it difficult to relive those 3 1/2 years but later found the strength to talk through annual reunions of the Lost Battalion.
In a 2005 interview in the Wise County Messenger, Hudson described his survival tactics:
"I lived it six months at a time. I survived through courage and determination...that's the key to most anything."
Hudson never took his freedom for granted.
"People talk about freedom and why we're in Iraq. You get it taken away from you and you realize how important it is to you," he said in the interview.
Hudson returned to his hometown of Bridgeport after the war, raised a family and built a successful business.
He was born Sept. 22, 1918, in Bridgeport to Thomas N. and Annie N. Woodard Hudson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Mae Green and his brother, Chesley Hudson.
He married Bettye Leonard on Oct. 30, 1992, in Fort Worth. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport, the Disabled American Veterans and the Wise County Veterans Group. He was a retired 25-year member of the Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Department and was the retired owner and operator of Hudson Butane of Bridgeport.
His fellow veterans from the Wise County Veterans Group were to provide military honors at his funeral Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral Home. The Rev. Melvin Clay was to officiate. Burial was to follow in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Pallbearers were to be Jeff Green, Tim Green, Larry Green, Gary Green, Tony Green, Todd Milligan, Lt. Col. Derek Foreman and Leslie Oates.
He is survived by his wife; sons, James Thomas "Tommy" Hudson and wife Pamela, Robert Don "Bob" Hudson and wife Marcy; grandsons, Andrew Thomas Hudson and wife Brandy, Adam Thomas Hudson and Seth Douglas Hudson; granddaughter, Meredith D'Nee Hudson; great-grandchildren, Cade and Cassidy Hudson; sister, Earline Virginia Burdick; stepson, Billy Jack Foreman and wife Sherrill; step-grandsons, Lt. Col. He grew up in Dallas and graduated from Pearce High School. He attended Texas Tech University. He met his wife, Tracy Brooks Hunn in San Diego and they enjoyed traveling to the beach and mountains, restoring classic Mustangs and attending operas.
He is survived by his wife of Houston; his parents of Dallas; two brothers, John Hunn and wife, Terry, of Hickory Creek and Scott Hunn and wife, Piper, of Rowlett; a nephew, Chandler and a niece, Macyn.

He was also a bullrider.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Drinkard and brother, Thomas Jordan.

He was in the United States Marines and received numerous medals, including a purple heart during World War II. He married Carolyn Lee Triplett on Dec. 28, 1973, in Las Vegas.

Larson was proceeded in death by two sisters, Maxine Vining and Shirley Artibee.

Born April 18, 1926, in Philadelphia to Bruce and Lessie Leamer, he was a retired engineer for TRW. He was a Lutheran. He married Joan Elizabeth Leamer in La Mesa, Calif., on Sept. 10, 1949.
Leamer served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Hazelwood at the battle of Okinawa in the Pacific in World War II and later was a captain in the U.S. Air Force. He was a graduate of the University of Montana in Missoula. He was a certified scuba diver, avid snow skier, reader and woodworker.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Leamer Jr., of Seattle, and a brother, Bill Leamer.

Funeral for Jim Leverette, 79, of Sherman was Thursday at Waldo Funeral Chapel in Sherman. The Revs. Kevin George, Jake Leverette and Bill Knight, officiated. Burial followed at West Hill Cemetery.
Leverette died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, in Sherman.
Born Jan. 12, 1928, in Bryan County, Okla., to Otis and Zona (Rolen) Leverette, he graduated from Sherman High School and married Helen McAfee on Jan. 27, 1945. He worked in the moving business for more than 30 years as the owner of Leverette Transfer and Storage. He later worked for Johnson and Johnson, retiring in June 1993. He served as a deacon for 51 years at Calvary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jason.
He is survived by his wife of Sherman; three daughters, Donna Groves and husband, T.A., of Chico, Nancy Bernard and husband, Mike, and Pam Gurley and husband, Jack, all of Sherman; a son, John Leverette of Sherman; eight grandchildren, Kristi Byrd and husband, Alan, of Bridgeport, Chad Husky and wife, Ronda, of Jacksboro, Malina Aleman and husband, Chico, Eric Bernard and wife, Hollie, Jennifer Benedict and husband, Shane, Jathan Gurley, and Dakota and Josh Leverette, all of Sherman; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Hardy and husband, Bill, of Garland and Brenda Nobles and husband, Jackie, of Sherman.

Lindsey died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, in Wichita Falls.
Born Aug. 24, 1926, in Jack County to Dave and Mary Evelyn (Walters) Lindsey, he was a retired state district judge and a rancher. He married Carol Glendinning on July 28, 1956, in Green Valley. He was a member of the Jacksboro First United Methodist Church.
Lindsey was a World War II veteran and a founding member of the Jack County Sheriff’s Posse. He was a member of the North Texas Council of Government, the Jack County Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas Association, the Jacksboro Chamber of Commerce, the local VFW, the Lions Club and the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. He was an active supporter of the Long Horn Council of the Boy Scouts. He held public offices as county attorney and county judge of Jack County, district attorney of Jack, Parker and Wise counties, was a state district judge and senior district judge.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Lindsey of Jacksboro; a daughter, Carolyn Lindsey and husband, Walter Jones, of Cuervo, N.M.; a son, David Lindsey and wife, Pam, of Strawn; two sisters, Jean Lindsey of Jacksboro and David Marie Hunter of Jack County; and two grandchildren, Andrew Lindsey and Jonathan Lindsey.

Born June 9, 1926, in Goldthwaite to Gorman and Ila Knowles Baker, she grew up in Denton and was employed by the Denton Phone Company. She married Bill Lipstreu on May 23, 1947. They moved to Boyd in 1954 and to Springtown in 1970. She was an employee of Mitchell Energy in Bridgeport.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mykel Blanchard; and a grandson, Eric Damon Gromatzky.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Sandy Brown and husband, Richard, of Boyd; and grandchildren, Donny and Barry Brown, both of Boyd.

Lisby died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007.
Born Nov. 19, 1922, in Newark, Lisby lived and went to school in Boyd until he enlisted in the Civilian Conservation Corps. After working in Colorado on the Red Rocks Amphitheater and Buffalo Bill’s grave projects, he came back to work at Burrus Mills in Saginaw.
He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was discharged with the rank of sergeant in December 1945. He married Mary Wills June 2, 1946. The couple had three children and moved from Boyd to Fort Worth in 1957. He worked at Trinity Portland Cement until his retirement in 1984. He and Mary loved to go fishing and camping.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Diane Lisby, Shirley White and husband, Paul, and Les Lisby and wife, Jan; grandchildren, Andrew White and wife, Sarah, Mark and Caleb White, Rachel Soria and husband, Victor, and Leanne Lisby; great-granddaughter, Ava Joy Soria; brother, Hershel Lisby; brother-in-law, Alfred Wenzel.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Bonnie Eugene Lowrimore, son Clifford Anthony Lowrimore, granddaughter Brenda Kaye Summers and brothers Dale Anthony and Jess Anthony.

He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 23, 2005.

He retired from General Motors in Arlington after 29 1/2 yeras.
He was a 33 degree Mason and was the past master, lifetime member and Golden Trowel Award recipient of the Haltom City Masonic Lodge. He was a past patron of the Eastern Star Haltom City chapter. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a brother and three sisters.
He is survived by brothers, Billy J. He worked for American Manufacturing for 38 years and at Trinitiy Industries for five years before his retirement. He enjoyed traveling the U.S. He served in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Conflict.

Born Feb. 28, 1914, in Paradise to John Dewitt and Mary Golda Hawk Matzinger, he was a retired elementary and secondary school principal. He was raised in Bridgeport and graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1932. He attended Decatur Baptist College from 1932 to 1934. He received a bachelor of science degree in government from North Texas State Teachers College in 1936 and a Master’s degree in elementary school administration from North Texas in 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees in World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport and served as a Rotarian and on the board of the Education Service Center, Region II. He enjoyed golfing. He married Roberta Johnson Pate Aug. 22, 1988.
Matzinger was preceeded in death by his first wife, Virginia Johnson Matzinger in 1978 and three sisters, Zelda Inez Liles, Tim Matzinger and Maude Muriel McCarty.

Born April 27, 1907, in Bowie to Jacob Harvey and Lucy (Brumfield) Fair, she married Charles McNutt in January of 1931 in Dallas. She was the Olney Chamber of Commerce Board of Industry secretary for 15 years, a founding member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher and a member of St. Anne’s Guild, a member of the Amity Club for 40 years and had been active in the PTA during her children’s school years. She moved to Olney from Dalles in 1946.
She was preceeded in death by her husband on Sept. 20, 1957.

Born Dec. 4, 1940, in Fonda, Iowa, to Walter and Reka Schultz Meyer, he was a retired pilot for United Airlines. He married Nancy Stein on Sept. 5, 1964, in Manson, Iowa. He was a pilot for the U.S. Air Force and served two tours in Vietnam. He was active in the VFW, the OV-10 Bronco Association and the River Rats Association. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife of Decatur; two sons, Aric Meyer of Decatur and Brad Meyer and wife, Lauren, of Round Rock; a brother, Elmer Meyer and wife, Janice, of Pomeroy, Iowa; a special aunt and uncle, Eileen and Albert Meyer of Albert City, Iowa; as well as nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Miller, Barbara Kay

Service for Barbara Kay Miller, 61, of Bowie was Feb. 3 at Southside Baptist Church. The Revs. John Robles and David White officiated. Burial followed in Hopewell Cemetery near Decatur.
Miller died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, in Bowie.
Born Aug. 6, 1945, in San Diego, Calif., to Joe and Angie (Belle) Hill, she was a 1963 graduate of Bowie High School. She worked 18 yeas as a supervisor for the Haggar Slacks Company in Bowie and 10 years with the office of Dr. Rebecca Bradford in Decatur. She enjoyed card games, reading, working crossword puzzles and going to church activities at Southside Baptist Church, where she was a member.
She married Jerry Miller on June 5, 1998, in Sunset. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Calvin Hodges.
She is survived by her husband of Bowie; a son, Brian Hodges and wife, Julie, of Fort Worth; three daughters, Khristie McGar and husband, Mike, of Decatur, Stefanie Halford and husband, Stephen, of South Haven, Miss., and Melanie Spikes and husband, Kendall, of Bellevue; two brothers, James Hill and wife, Charlotte, of Mountain City and Bob Hill and wife, Linda, of Grand Prairie; a sister, Dorothy Fielder of Decatur; her mother-in-law, Jorene Miller of Bowie; and eight grandchildren, Brandon and Whitney McGar; Chelsea, Kaylea and Morgan Halford; and Kenton, Kason and Kaylie Spikes.

Berneice Miller, 82, of Wichita Falls died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, in Wichita Falls. She was a former resident of Greenwood.
Born Jan. 9, 1925, in Childress to Earl and Ruby Simpson, she was preceded in death by a son, Mikel Earl Miller.
