Born June 15, 1976, in Artesia, N.M., he worked in the shipping department for Air Plus Limited.
He is survived by his father and step-mother, Louie and Mary Raines of Whitesboro; his mother, Susan Raines of Euless; two sisters, Candace Michell Raines of Euless and Kelly Snyder of Whitesboro; his grandparents, Berl and Helen Crockett of Bridgeport and L.A. Raines of Springtown and his great grandmother, Grace Moore of Colorado City.

Rasbury, Lester C.
1917 - 2000
Service for Lester C. Rasbury, 82, of Haltom City, was Monday, Jan. 10, at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur.
Rasbury died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in North Richland Hills.
Born May 31, 1917, in Decatur, he married Rheba Rasbury in 1946 in Denton. He served in World War II and was a member of the The Lost Battalion. He was a prisoner of war 42 months. He was an electrician and retired in the early 1980s from Rasbury Electric.
He is survived by his wife, Rheba Rasbury of Haltom City; his sons, Gene Rasbury of Missouri City and Paul Rasbury of Haltom City; a daughter, Joy McLaughlin of Irving; a brother, Gwin Rasbury of Houston; three sisters, Ruth Schmidt of Denton, Minnie Morris of North Richland Hills and Jean Walker of North Richland Hills and four grandchildren.

Read, Gary Vance
1969-2000
Service for Gary Vance Read, 30, of Bridgeport was Friday, Sept. 8, at the First Baptist Church of Bridgeport. Burial followed at Thomas Cemetery. The Rev. Johnny Irish and Truman Read officiated.
Read died Sept. 5, 2000, at Lake Bridgeport.
Born Nov. 5, 1969, in Bridgeport, he was a 1988 graduate of Bridgeport High School and also a graduate of The Dallas Institution of Funeral Services. He was a rancher and former owner of Area Mortuary Service. He was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bridgeport.
He is survived by his mother, Judy Carpenter and her husband J.P.; his father, Gary Read and his wife Ann; two brothers, Michael Read and wife Stacie and Brad Read; one sister, Wendy Carpenter; grandparents, Agnes Carpenter, Pat Read, and Ralph and Juanita Chilton and one niece, Alexis Read.
Pallbearers were Kelly Kennedy, Bryan Torres, Ronnie Kleam, Allen Baker, Donnie Kleam, Doug Hudson, Tommy Thompson and Scott Hale.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Vance Read Memorial Fund at the First National Bank of Bridgeport to be used for local charities.

Read, Katherine Fae

Service for Katherine Fae Read, 82, of Bridgeport, was Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Bridgeport. The Rev. Butch Gott officiated. Burial followed at the East Bridgeport Cemetery.
Read died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, in Decatur.
Born Dec. 12, 1917, in Paradise, she was a homemaker and a member of the Cates St. Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Read in 1989.
She is survived by her son, Dickey and wife Eva Read; her daughter, Frankie Ann and husband C.L. Williams; four grandchildren, Thresia, Kerrie, D.J. and Chris and eight great-grandchildren.

Renfro, Jim
1945-2000
Service for Jim Renfro, 54, of Rhome was to be Thursday, Jan. 27, at Mount Olivet Chapel with burial to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth. Visitation was to be form 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at the Mount Olivet Chapel.
Renfro died Jan. 24, 2000.
Born June 28, 1945, in Fort Worth, Renfro was the owner of Pressure Wash of Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Burden of Rhome; a son, Jim F. Renfro II of Grapevine; a daughter, Robin Renfro of Mansfield; two brothers, Roy Renfro of Prairie Hill and Bill Renfro of Keller; two sisters, Betty Winters of Fort Worth and Carol Creel of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren, Michael and Christopher Renfro, Chris and Jeffrey Young, Alicia and Jessica Burden, Brandy Head and Amber Catlett; one step-son, Mark Burden of Lewisville; a step-daughter, Debbie Young of Lewisville; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

Renner, William Henry

Service for William Henry Renner, 88, of Granbury, was Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Paradise Methodist Church. The Rev. Jack Vereen officiated. Burial followed at Paradise Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Douglas Renner, Tommy Renner, Michael Renner, Terry Renner, Ronnie Renner and William Renner, Jr.
Renner died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at his home.
Born Aug. 4, 1912, in Seymour, he was a member of the Paradise Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Iola Renner, in 1982 and two grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Lee Renner of Monahans; three sons, Thomas Henry Renner of Alvord, Gordon Robert Renner of Crowley and William Lee Renner of Chico; one daughter, Mae Renner of Granbury; one sister, Imo Gene Martin of Douglas, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Renshaw, Carol Jim Roberts

Graveside service for Carol Jim Roberts Renshaw, 95, of Decatur was to be Thursday, Jan. 6, at 9 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery. A memorial service was to follow at University Christian Church of Fort Worth at 10 a.m. The Rev. Charles Sanders was to preside, assisted by the Rev. Rusty Hedges.
Renshaw died Jan. 3, 2000, in Decatur. She was born Dec. 19, 1904, in Edmond, Okla. to Charles Henry and Ethel Harshberger Roberts. She married Horace Stephen Renshaw, M.D., on April 24, 1934. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Texas Christian University and a master of arts degree from the University of Michigan. She taught at Paschal High School and TCU and served on the Fort Worth School Board. At various times she was president of the following organizations: Sorosis Club, Roundtable, Fort Worth WomenÕs Club, Tarrant County Medical Society Auxiliary (Alliance), Texas Medical Association Auxiliary (Alliance) and Friends of the TCU Library. Renshaw was also a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979.
Renshaw is survived by: two sons, Charles Lucius Renshaw, M.D. and James Stephen Renshaw; six grandchildren, Stephen Vance Renshaw, M.D., Lisa Carol Patenaude, M.D., Lucius Scott Renshaw, Julie Kay Weber, Robert Harold Renshaw and Stephen Charles Renshaw; seven great-grandchildren, Kalah Achee, Chelsea Marie Renshaw, Lucius Ryan Patenaude, Adrian Jane Patenaude, Charles Joseph Weber, and William Andrew Renshaw; and two daughters-in-law, Sally Marie Tull Renshaw and Teresa Kathryn McClure Renshaw.
Honorary pallbearers were to be John Pumphrey, John Griffith, Steve Gibbs, Ray Shafer, Richard Greene, Ryan Greene, Samuel Renshaw and H. Wallace Schmuck, DDS.

Renshaw, Etta Mozelle

Services for Etta Mozelle Renshaw, 80, of Decatur was to be Saturday, June 10, at 2 p.m. at the Coker Funeral Home Chapel. Rusty Hedges will officiate.
Renshaw died June 8, 2000, in Decatur.
Born June 4, 1920, in Decatur, she was a retired clerical worker for Decatur City Hall. She married Billy Bob Renshaw in 1938 in Decatur. He preceded her in death in 1975. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Decatur.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra and her husband Melvin Bert Little of Decatur, Janice and her husband Stanley Pitts of Decatur, and Kate Renshaw of Decatur; a brother, Robert Cartwright of Decatur; and a sister, Naomi Prescott of Decatur; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were to be Bill Pitts, Bert Little Jr., Tommy Neal, Frankie Claborn, Gary Prescott and Bob Cartwright. Honorary pallbearers were Sam Renshaw, Roger Gage and Brian Goodger.

Reynolds, Mary Helen
1907-2000
Graveside service for Mary Helen Reynolds, 93, of Decatur was to be Wed., Aug. 2 at the Alvord Cemetery. Ken Cates was to officiate. Reynolds died July 31, 2000, in Decatur.
Born May 27, 1907, in Lawrence, she was a homemaker. She married the late Elmer Lee Reynolds in Alvord. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alvord.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Rhea, Agnes

Service for Agnes Rhea, 79, of Bowie, was to be Wednesday, Nov. 22, at the Burgess-Fry-Owens-Brumley Chapel in Bowie. Burial was to follow at Salona Cemetery in Bowie. Dr. Larry Cox was to officiate.
Rhea died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000 at her residence in Bowie.
Born July 6, 1921, in New Brockton, Ala., she had been a resident of Bowie for 35 years. She was a member of the Baptist church and the Reddy McCellan VFW Post #8789 Ladies Auxiliary in Bowie.
Survivors include one granddaughter, Cynthia Rhea Neuman of Arlington; two great-grandchildren, Justin Neuman of Arlington and Amanda Neuman of Arlington; two great-great-grandchildren, Savannah Neuman of Arlington, Justin Neuman, Jr., of Arlington; three sisters, Naomi McCollough of Marshall, Maurine Engleman of Marshall and Florine Nichols of White, Ga.; one brother, Martin Yohn of Marshall and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Justin Neuman, Ricky Neuman, Chris Dybvig, Eric Engleman, Roy Darden and David Hughes.

Albert Graveside servie for Gene Albert Rhine, 95, of Decatur was Monday, July 24, at Bethel Cemetery. Rhine died July 22, 2000, in Decatur. Born May 14, 1905, in Grubb Hill, he was a dairyman and member of the First United Methodist Church in Decatur. He married the late Grace Marie Parish on May 5, 1925, in Decatur. Survivors include his sons, Dan Rhine and wife Barbara and Glenn Rhine and wife Barbara, all of Decatur; daughter, Bobbie Owens and husband Pat of Sanger, daughter-in-law, Bobbie Rhine of Decatur; 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grand-children and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Rhodes, Avo Floy

Service for Avo Floy Rhodes, 86, of Decatur, will be Thursday, Nov. 16, at 10:30 a.m. at the Coker Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Moore Memorial Park in Arlington.
Rhodes died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, in Decatur.
Born Aug. 22, 1914, in Victoria, she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Rhodes and one son, Eugene Schoolcraft.
She is survived by two daughters, Dolly Miller of Decatur and Donivee Halas of Lillian; a daughter-in-law, Marce Schoolcraft of Malakoff; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Rice, Rosa V.
1904-2000
Service for Rosa V. Rice, 95, of Alvord was Monday, Feb. 14, at the Alvord Church of Christ. Billy Blakeney officiated, assisted by Keith Martin and burial followed at New Harp Cemetery in Montague County.
Rice died Feb. 12, 2000, in Bowie.
Born Nov. 30, 1904 in Albany, Rice was a homemaker and a member of the Alvord Church of Christ. She married the late Clarence Rice on Jan. 6, 1926, in Montague County. She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Joe Rice.
Survivors include three daughters, Freddie A. Herring of Bedford and Delma R. Calvert and Peggy J. Rice, both of Austin; a sister, Tommi Hudson of Wichita Falls; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rice, Thomas Theodore
1913-2000
Service for Thomas Theodore Rice Jr., 87, formerly of Bridgeport, was Tuesday, Dec. 12 at the Morrison Funeral Home Chapel in Graham. The Rev. Charles Rice of Clifton officiated. Burial followed at Hawkins Chapel Cemetery in Young County.
Rice died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, in Jacksonville.
Born May 24, 1913, in Loving to the late Tom T. and Annie Rice, he was retired from Mitchell Energy and was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Navy Seabees and participated in the invasions of the Aleutian Islands and Okinawa. He helped build the airfield on Okinawa where the B-29, “The Enola Gay,” landed after dropping the atom bomb on Japan. Early in his life, he played professional baseball in the minor leagues. He retired from Mitchell Energy Corp. in 1968. He married Melva B. Price on Aug. 9, 1940, in Newcastle. He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church in Jacksonville.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Melva B. Rice; three daughters, Ann House and husband Mike of Jacksonville, Loretta Allen and husband Randy of Tyler and Cindy James of Jacksonville; a son, Charles Rice and wife Tanya of Clifton; two sisters, Paula Cosby and husband Sam of Weatherford and Glenda Hammon of Richland; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Rich, Cletus Douglas
1948-2000
Service for Cletus Douglas Rich, 52, of Paradise, was Friday, April 28, at the Jefferson Unitarian Church in Fort Worth.
Rich died Tuesday, April 25, 2000.
Born Dec. 10, 1948, in Providence, Ky., he graduated from Western Kentucky University and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1973 to 1993. He retired as a major. He was awarded the Meritorious Service medal, the Air Force Commendation medal with three oak leaf clusters and the Air Force Achievement medal with one oak leaf cluster. While in the Air Force, he earned a second bachelors degree in nursing from West Texas State University. He also earned a masters degree in nursing in 1994 from the University of Texas at Arlington. He was a member of USCTA and was president of the board of the Brazos Valley Hunt Club in Wise County. He was a representative for Excel Communications.
He is survived by John Huffman; children, Cathy, Scott and Kimberly; a grandson, Evan Matthew Lincoln and his parents, Cletus M. and Mary E. Rich.

Richardson, Mary Jo ‘Jodie’

Service for Mary Jo “Jodie” Richardson, 71, of Decatur, was Wednesday, Nov. 1, in the Christian-Hawkins Chapel in Boyd. Burial was in the Boyd Cemetery. Marcus Brecheen and John Featherston officiated.
Richardson died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, in Decatur.
Born Sept. 15, 1929, in Fort Worth, she was the former owner and operator of Richardson Pit Stop in Boyd. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Decatur and Emmaus. She was preceded in death by her husband Bud Richardson and a daughter Cynthia Ann Richardson.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Richardson and wife Melody and Jim Richardson; two sisters, Billie Marie Malone and Donna Brown Gustin; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Richey, Gus Matthew

Service for Gus Matthew Richey, 85, of Crafton was Jan. 7 at the Crafton Baptist Church. Burial was in the Crafton Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Wood presided, assisted by Bill Myers. Richey was born on Feb. 11, 1914, in Crafton to John and Pearl Richey. He died Jan. 5, 2000, in Crafton. He was a lifetime resident of Crafton and a long-time farmer and rancher. He married Opal Lee Warden in July, 1934. They were married 65 years. He was a member of the Crafton Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by six brothers. He is survived by his wife, Opal Lee Richey of Crafton; two sons, Buddy Richey of Jacksboro and Bobby Richey and his wife Frances of Chico; three daughters, Anna Hand and her husband Jim of Crafton, June Cox and her husband Elmer of Denton, and Janet Myers and her husband Bill of Leander; one brother, Curtis Richey of Crafton; one sister, Ruby Collie of Jacksboro; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Richey, Lorene J.

Service for Lorene J. Richey, 72, of Comanche, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 28, at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jim Rainey will officiate. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Richey died Wednesday, May 24, 2000, in Midland.
Born June 24, 1927, in Atoka, Okla., to Homer and Sarah Williams, she was a seamstress and a homemaker. She was a member of Gartman View Baptist Church. She married A.E. “Curley” Rogers in 1951. He preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1978. She married Glen Richey on May 22, 1983.
She is survived by her husband, Glen Richey of Comanche; a son, Wayne and wife Lynn Long of Decatur; daughters Geneva and husband Paul Ridgeway of Midland, Lou and husband Roger Hitt of Decatur, Sue and husband Clifford Mercer of Ennis; step-daughters Pat and husband Lonnie Black of Fort Worth, Glenda and husband Joe Hicks of Alvarado, Lucy and husband James Martin of Cresson; step-son James and wife Debbie Richey of Granbury; two sisters ,Cleo Craig and Imogene Craig of Rogers, Ark.; two brothers, Floyd Williams of Eastland and Lloyd Williams of Comanche; grandsons, Wayland Long, Clint Mercer, Cameron Mercer and Brett Ridgeway; granddaughters, Lisa Luttrull, Shelly Saaser and Laci Ridgeway; five great-grandchildren; and 12 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, three brothers and one grandson.

Richey, Reba Marie

Graveside service for Reba Marie Richey, 83, of Chico, was Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the Chico Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Wood officiated.
Richey died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, in Decatur.
Born March. 15, 1916, in Crafton, she was a life-time resident of Wise County and lived in Chico the past 20 years. She was a homemaker and married Howard Vernon Richey in 1938. They were married 41 years until he preceded her in death in 1979.
She is survived by two sons, James and wife Margaret Richey of Azle and Charles and wife Kelly Richey of Amarillo; one daughter, Beverly and husband Lane Lambert of Chico;  sisters, Oleta Bender, Lela Duck and Neba Ruth Culverhouse of Chico and Genelle Hopkins of Park Springs; seven grandchildren, Craig, Stacie, Allison, Amanda, Ryan, Larry and Alicia and two great- granchildren, Taylor and Kaitlin.

Riddle, Bill
1922-2000
Service was to be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 18 at First Baptist Church of Boyd for Bill Riddle, 77, of Boyd. The Rev. Sonny Smith and the Rev. Mike Stanley were to officiate. Burial was to be in Boyd Cemetery.
Riddle died March 14, 2000, in Houston.
He was born Nov. 2, 1922, in Gouldbusk, Texas. He married Francis Burrus Sept. 9, 1945, in Clovis, N.M. He served in World War II as a bombardier.
He moved to Boyd in 1985 where he was a member of the First Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He was retired from Riddle Moving Co.
Survivors include his wife, Francis; a son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Marilyn Riddle of Colorado; two daughters, Kay Boot and Marj Riddle of Boyd; two sisters, Mary Levell of Springtown and Sharron Cabell of Houston; four grandchildren, Michael, Tiffany, Kristen and Cheryl; and one great-granddaughter, Kimberly.
Pallbearers were to be Danny Lambert, T.H. Lambert, Jim Lambert, Dayle Hardy, Bill Smith, Bruce Coffman, Larry McBride, Tommy Stephens, Pat Berman, Ray Gilbert, Robert Howard and Frank Raoke.

Ridlon, Laura Bea
1914-2000
Memorial service for Laura Bea Ridlon, 85, of Justin will be Sunday, Sept. 24, at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Justin. Rev. John Eckstein will officiate. Burial will be at Justin Cemetery.
Ridlon died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in Fort Worth.
Born December 23, 1914, in Navo, she was a teacher and librarian for the Northwest Public School. She married Harvey Elsworth Ridlon on Dec. 29, 1935, in McKinney. She graduated from North Texas State Teachers College and was the originator of Kaglers, which later became Alpha Phi Sorority.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey, and her parents, B.L. Adams and Lula Danie (Richey) Adams.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann Gambill and husband Greg of Bedford; two sons, Richard Ridlon and wife Linda of DeQueen, Ark., and Roger Ridlon and wife Rebecca of El Paso; two sisters-in-law, Corinne Adams and Doris Adams, both of Justin; two granddaughters, Ashley Ridlon of DeQueen and Allison Gambill of Bedford and three grandsons, Travis Gambill and wife Jamie of Bedford, Grant Gambill of Bedford and Adam Ridlon of Arlington.

Rieger, George Richard

Service for George Richard Rieger, 75, of Denton, was Tuesday, May 16, at Coker Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur. The Rev. R. Roy Baines officiated. Burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Rieger died Saturday, May 13, 2000, in Denton.
Born Jan. 14, 1925, in Sanger, he graduated from Southern Methodist Univer-sity and was a retired textiles salesman. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Rieger of Denton; five daughters, Therese Williams of Boyd, Jan Hesselman of North Carolina, Margaret Rieger of Sugarland, Laura Maisel of Spring and Nancy Conception of Hawaii; two step daughters, Pam McElhaney and Lea Richards of Denton; one sister, Glen La Ray Bond of Bryan; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild and two step grandchildren.

Riemer, Oscar M.
1946-2000
Graveside service for Oscar M. Riemer, 54, of Bridgeport, will be Thursday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. at the City of Lubbock Cemetery. The Rev. Doyle Patterson will officiate. Riemer died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, in Bridgeport.
Born Oct. 9, 1946, in Lubbock, he moved to Bridgeport in 1994. He attended Bean Elementary and O.L. Slaton. He graduated from Lubbock High School in 1965. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam. He had served as the warden for the Bridgeport CCA Pre-Parole Transfer Facility since November 1994.

He is survived by a son, Reagan Riemer of Lubbock; a brother, Jim Riemer of Lubbock and two sisters, Paulette Lee of Enterprise, Ala. and Mary Jane Maples of Mineral Wells.
The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
The family was to receive friends on Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Sanders Funeral Home in Lubbock.

Robertson died Dec. 24, 1999, in Kingman. She was born March 17, 1948, in Ellsworth, Kan. She was the daughter of Keith and Betty Fuqua Bean. She had lived in Kingman since 1993 and previously lived in Bridgeport and Ulysses, Kan. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kingman and the Ulysses,  Chapter 471 Order of the Eastern Star. Robertson was also a 25 year 4-H leader, a 20 year Girl Scout leader and served in education for 17 years in positions ranging from classroom assistant to board clerk. She married Steve J. Robertson in Syracuse, Kan. on Dec. 27, 1963.
Robertson is survived by her husband Steve of Kingman; two daughters and their husbands, Paula and Shannon Sixkiller of Sherman and Kimberly and Paul Cantrell of Chico; her father and stepmother, Keith and Bette Bean of McCook, Neb.; her mother and stepfather, Betty and Lewis Rueb, of Kingman; two brothers, Michael Bean of San Antonio and Dale Bean of Kearney, Neb.; one sister, Susan Gingerich, of Hutchinson, Kan.; grandmother, Anna Fuqua of Kingman and seven grandchildren.

Robertson died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, in Decatur.
Born April 19, 1927, in Stevens County, he was a resident of Bridgeport since 1978 and a retired truck owner/operator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Sea Bees and served during World War II. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, a former member of the Oddfellows and a member of the Cates St. Baptist Church in Bridgeport.
He married Paula Fitzgerald on Jan. 28, 1989, in Decatur.
He is survived by his wife, Paula of Bridgeport; daughters Bobbi Loftis of Shreveport, La., Missy and husband Edward Martinez and Stacy and husband Jimmy Williams, all of Bridgeport; 10 grandchildren, Damon, Lance and Amy Loftis, Nick, Candy, Masi and Kasi Martinez, Jessica, J.D. and Justin Williams and several nieces and nephews.

Born July 7, 1908, in Marysville, she was the daughter of Ludie Pinkney and Martha Frances Crow Davison. She married James Earl Robison on Nov. 12, 1932, in Marietta, Okla. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gainesville and was a Sunday school teacher and church clerk at Marysville Baptist Church for 50 years. She was also a member of the home demonstration club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Robison; three brothers, Bernice Davison, Ivan Davison and Raymond Davison; and a sister, Hettie Holcomb.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Earl Douglas and Bonnie Robison of Gainesville and Jimmy Don Robison of Marysville; three grandchildren, Mark Robison, Jan Harrison of Decatur and Lisa Pagel; and five great-grandchildren, Mark and Donnie Robison, Kenny and Brad Harrison and Magie Pagel.

Schluter, a retired Wise County farmer and rancher, died Monday in Decatur. He was born November 29, 1909 and was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Dee Schluter of Rhome and a son Edwin Schluter and his wife Betty of Rhome; and two grandsons Alan Schluter and his wife Kristy of Ponder and Dan Schluter and his wife Carol of Justin. He was born April 2, 1913, in Boyd to Jackson and Ora Belle Cornstubble Scroggins. He was a self-employed auto mechanic in San Saba. On Sept. 13, 1979, Scroggins married Jimmie Lou Keele in Ardmore, Okla. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Skinner, a longtime Wise County mechanic, owned Skinner’s Garage in Decatur for 35 years. Prior to opening his own garage, Skinner had been a technician at several automobile and farm equipment dealerships in Decatur.
Skinner married Leona Beatrice Cogburn on Feb. 19, 1937, in Love County, Okla.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Leona Beatrice Skinner of Decatur, and sons and daughters-in-law Dwight and Winn Skinner of Denton, David and Terry Skinner of Paradise and son Joey Skinner of Denton and daughter Martha June Skinner of Decatur.
He is also survived by a brother, Joe Skinner of Decatur and four grandchildren Reneau Skinner of New York and Amanda, Allison and Grant Skinner, all of Denton.

Born Sept. 7, 1918, in Springtown, he was a lifetime resident of Bridgeport. He was a retired butcher and owned Finer Food Market of Bridgeport in the 1950s and 60s. He was also the owner of Trailwind Motel in Bridgeport in the 1980s. He married Mary Nell Hunter on Oct. 11, 1941, in Bridgeport. She preceded him in death on July 29, 1991. He was also preceded in death by his son, William Marshall Slagle; a sister, Hattie Coffee and two brothers, Claude and Virgil Slagle.
He is survived by his daughter, Berta Brown Morris and husband Calvin of Sanger; a sister, Marie Kennedy of Bridgeport; a daughter-in-law, Donnie Slagle Floyd of Bridgeport; seven grandchildren, Cindy Staley and husband Danny of Slidell, Brenda Miller and husband Guy of Greenwood, Robert Brown and wife Pebble of Paradise, Jaimie Lanier and husband John of Decatur, Shirley Hoofard of Gainesville, Wayne Brown and wife Sarah of Louisiana and Kim Earwood and husband Kevin of Denton and several nieces and nephews.

Sloan died April 3, 2000, in Decatur.
Born June 10, 1911, in Dallas, Sloan was a retired teacher and member of Victory Family Church. Sloan called Wise County home for 80 years, although his teaching career was in Florida where he retired in 1968. He returned to the Sloan home in Greenwood and became active in the Wise County Historical Society. He served as president and then as treasurer.
Later, he accepted an appointment into the Wise County Historical Commission in 1973. Sloan was also very active in the Decatur AARP Chapter.
Survivors include a brother, Young T. Sloan of Lake Kiowa; and a sister, Dr. Katherine Speegle of Denton.

Smith, Belva

Smith died Feb. 21, 2000 in Weatherford.
Born Sept. 22, 1922 in Fisher County, Smith was the oldest child of Jett and Ova George. She grew up on a ranch in Kent County and lived in Rotan where she graduated from high school. She was married for 56 years to Bill Smith, who died in 1998.
Smith retired in 1986 from General Dynamics in Fort Worth after 32 years of employment. She was a dedicated wife and a devoted mother and grandparent, who enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an excellent dancer and her energetic and industrious life changed drastically early in her retirement because of Alzheimer’s disease. The disease slowly wore away her physical capabilities, but it never defeated her positive attitude and her up-beat personality.

Born Aug. 6, 1933, in Snow, Okla., to Nettie and Tom Smith, he married Jo Townsend on June 22, 1952, in Carlsbad, N.M. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He entered the U.S. Army in 1954 and served in the Korean War. He was employed by Philco Corp. and assigned as a technical representative to the U.S. Air Force. He worked on the early warning systems in Mt. Laguna, Calif. He transferred to the U.S. Navy in 1962.
He retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1988 and moved to Newport News where he worked for the Thomas Jefferson National Laboratory. He retired in 1998 and moved to Bowie.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Smith of Bowie; his mother, Nettie J. Smith of Bowie; two sons, David E. Smith of Bellevue, Neb. and William D. Smith of Bridgeport; three daughters, Laurie J. Smith of Bowie, Amy K. Boise of Phoenix, Ariz. and Dianna R. Born Aug. 16, 1924 in Decatur, she worked for LTV aircraft manufacturing. She was a member of the United Auto Workers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Stevens and her brother, James Lee Potter.
Survivors include a son, Stanley Johnson of Sapulpa, Okla.; a daughter, Nonni Marie Johnson; two brothers, Jackie Potter and Marvin Potter, both of Decatur; two sisters, Venita Brown of Decatur and Betty Brooks of Morgan; and 14 nieces and nephews.

Stutt died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, in Decatur.
Born Oct. 14, 1921, in Paradise, he married Doris Imogene Dewbre on Nov. 25, 1950, in Bridgeport. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II in Normandy and central Europe and earned the European-African-Middle Eastern ribbon with one bronze star and one silver star, the good conduct medal and three overseas bars.
He was a retired aircraft mechanic for Bell Helicopter and Lockheed. He was a member of the Cates Street Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Charles and Elizabeth Ramsdale Stutt and two brothers, Terrell Howard Stutt and Joseph Elvin Stutt.
Pallbearers were Bob Hudson, Nick Hudson, Greg Vandiver, Phil Vandiver, Ricky Stutt, Byron Stutt and Larry Vandiver. Honorary pallbearers were Wilbert Stutt and Foy Brown.

Sugg died Jan. 20, 2000, in Chico. He was born March 16, 1925, in Cunningham. Sugg lived in Chico since 1958. He was a night foreman for Lonestar Industries. He retired in 1985, after 21 years. Sugg was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served in World War II. He married Wanda Wood Sugg on Jan. 21, 1947, in Cisco.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Sugg enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Born January 1, 1925, in Decatur, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Bellevue. She was formerly a seamstress at Haggar Slacks and Bowie Manufacturing Company until her retirement in 1967. She was a member of the Bowie Chapter Number 16 Order of Eastern Star. She married L.D. Swift on July 21, 1944, in Denton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Rosa Mae Mann, and a sister, Juanita Ruth Banks.
She is survived by her husband, L.D. Swift of Bellevue; two sons, James M. Swift of Bellevue and Samuel Dennis Swift of Cushman, Ark.; five brothers, C.T. Mann and Ernest R. Mann, both of Arlington, Robert J. Born Nov. 5, 1906, in Bridgeport, he was a lifetime resident of the Bridgeport community. He was a longtime butcher for Kaker Bros. Grocery. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport where he was a former steward and trustee. He was a sexton of West Bridgeport Cemetery. He married Opal Johnston on June 7, 1927, in Decatur. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years; a son, John D. Tackel and his wife Erma of Garland; a daughter, Carnelia Blalock and her husband Buddy of Bridgeport; six grandchildren, Lisa, Steven, Erick, Patti, Jeff and Brad; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her father, Clarence W.
