The clerk assumed the name Ratledge was Rutledge and wrote it that way. November Session 1813 Will BK G. pg. 291-292 James Rutledge Sr. of Rowan County, North Carolina left property to his children.
Will for a Elizabeth Blake, widow of Hon. Daniel Blake names cousins IZARD, BUTLER, MIDDLETON, CAMPBELL, DRAYTON, HOOKS, CHARLES PINCKEY, THOMAS GADSDEN, and EDWARD RUTLEDGE! Elizabeth was the daughter of Joseph and Ann Izard!

Witnessed by William RUTTLEDGE, Richard WOLLISON Jr. and JOHN RUDDELL.Proved and acknowledged 17 Nov 1738 deed book M: page 3 (LDS) I am guessing that William Ruttledge lived in Chester Co. if he was a witness for Ann Cook's document.
