      Vol.2, pg.5: HON. WILLIAM HENRY DUNCAN, A.M. William H. Duncan, son of William and Mary (McMurphy) Duncan, was born in Candia, N.H., September 26, 1807, and died in Hanover, N.H., March 29, 1883. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1830, and later received the degree of A.M. from that Institution. He studied law with Chancellor Benjamin Fanueil Duncan of Charlestown, S.C., and was admitted to the bar in that state. He practiced his profession in Hanover, 1834-70. He was an active friend of "N.U.," (MAD: Norwich University) serving as trustee during 1840-49. He was married June 25, 1834, to Sarah Murdock, daughter of the Hon. Mills Olcott of Hanover.
