Cole, of Vermont; children: Robert C., James H., Andrew C., Miriam M. Began active career as clerk in store at Sidney; later spent two years in wholesale store of Cal Barker, Toledo, O.; served as deputy county treasurer Shelby Co., O.; removed to St.Louis, 1879, and was placed in charge of office work of R.D. Patterson & Co., becoming secretary and treasurer of the company; after business was sold to the Buxton & Skinner Stationery Co. was made assistant treasurer of latter concern. Member St.Louis Credit Men's Association. Democrat. Presbyterian. Recreation: horseback riding. Office: 306 N. 4th St. Residence: 5886 Clemens Ave. Summer Residence: Hill Crest Cottage, Arcadia, Mo.       Pg.240: ROBERT W. DUNCAN, Representative from Ottawa county in 1855, was born in Rutland, Vt., February 24, 1824. He came to Grand Haven in 1851, where he now resides. By profession a lawyer, politically a Democrat. He has been circuit court commissioner six terms; prosecuting attorney two terms; mayor in 1868; supervisor several times; and has repeatedly been the democratic candidate for circuit judge.
