      4-158: Know all men by these presents that I Elizabeth Hight of Southmark Parish in County of Surry am bound and firmley held unto David Dunkinson of the parish aforesaid to him his Heirs Extors & admors in the full and just sum of one hundered pounds current money of Virginia well and truely be made. I bind myself Heirs Extors & admors firmly by these presents sign'd and seal'd this fourteenth Day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and thirty.
      Whereas I the above mentioned Elizabeth Hight being God willing desgr'd (sp?) to enter into the state of matrimony with the above said David Dunkinson by these presents which I hold and deem to be a solemn marriage contract. I do faithfully promise and declare that if I do survive him the said David, that altho the Statute laws of England and the laws of this Colony do make and provide certain and particular provision for Widows in such cases, yet I do and have for divers good causes and considerations .. there unto moving agreed to and .. the said David that in lieu of such lawful allowance I will be fully satisfied and contented with such a portion part or parcel of his Estate as shall seem to him convenient to bestow upon me and that I nor any other in my stead shall not disturb molest or trouble the Heir, Extor or Admor of him the said David eith by petition or action or any other process which by the ....... in the .... shall or may be devised.
      The Condition of this obligation is such that if the above Bound on Elizabeth Hight her Heirs Extors admors or assigns shall and do well and truely observe perform fullfill and keep faithfully duely and truely their Promise contained in the above specified Contract of Marriage then this obligation to be void & of no effect or else to be & remain in full force & virtue_
