      2-62: This is a plot of 390 acres on both sides Horsepen Creek of Glovers Creek surveyed for Robert Wooding Oct. 9, 1747, by Thomas Turpin, surveyor. Transferred from Robert Wooding to John Merriman to Benjamin Miggison to John Duncan. Buckingham Co. Grant issued 25 June 1780. (no neighbors given).
      2-245: Pittsylvania Co., 6 Nov. 1778, surveyed for (Benjamin Duncan crossed out) Leonard Delosure (written above) 134 acres on N.branch Tomahawk Creek, adj. George Smith's corner and new lines, crossing Buckhorn Creek, James Smith's line, John Balls line. 20 Dec. 1778 the above land was transferred to Leod. Delosure to whom let a patent issue. Benj. Nicholson corner and line, crossing over a part of the river into an Island, crossing back over said part of river at mouth of a creek, and up the creek above Buffaloe lick, to S.side of knobs, along said knobs. 21 Nov. 1782. /s/ Walter Preston asst., Parker Preston SWC.             Richmond, Feb. 23, 1797, for value received, I hereby assign to Messrs John Hocks & Robert Campbell all my right & title to seven surveys of 3,000 acres each made in the name of David Duncan in the months of Oct. and Dec. 1787 in the then Co. of Greenbrier by virtue of seven entries of 3,000 acres each made 14 Sept. 1782, which 7 tracts of land were assigned to me by David Duncan 21 Nov. 1796; /s/ James Welch; wit. Saml. McCraw, Wm. Moncure.
            To the Reg. of the Land Office, we desire you to issue grants for the above land to John Hicks, Robert Campbell, William Currie & James Currie, that is to say, to the said John Hicks, Robert Campbell, and William Currie for an undivided 2/3 and to said James Currie for the residue as tenants in common and not as joint tenants, the said lands having been purchased by the parties aforesaid in the manner above; it is understood the subscribers are not in any manner responsible for the title. 16 Nov. 1797, /s/ Jno.
