      George H. Duncan, 5 Dec. 1835, had patent to 1 league of land in Smith's Colony, Harrison? Co. TX (from "Index to Spanish and Mexican Land Grants in TX" by Virginia H. Taylor, originally published as "Spanish Archives of the General Land Office of TX" (by Glass?), FHL book 976.4 R2tv; Houston, TX, library book 976.4G 549; from Lucille Mehrkam and from Jean Walker 1984).
            One George H. Duncan on 15 Feb. 1836 also had patent to 10 leagues of land, in Durst & Williams Colony (ibid). George H. Duncan's title to a 1st Class grant (he living in TX March 4, 1836) in Wise Co. TX was listed on pg.1540, "Abstract of Titled and Patented Lands Compiled From the Records of the General Land Office of the State of Texas" published in Austin in 1860 (indexed by Paul Campbell; published in Vol.3#2 "Texas Heritage Quarterly," from Lucille Mehrkam 2/1984 and CA State Library, Sutro Branch, book F385 T48). George H. Duncan received bounty warrant #698 for 320 acres on 5 Dec. 1837 for service from 4 July to 8 Oct. 1836, 320 acres in Angelina Co. were surveyed but not patented; Glo file Nac Bty 421.
