      12-26: 1 April 1821, ordered that Benjamin McNutt, Mr.? B.A. Ramsey and Robert McNutt Esq. examine as to the disability of Robert Duncan and report his situation to the next term of this court. (FHL film 1,020,309)

      21-322: Dec. 6, 1858. State of TN vs. Wm. Duncan, Bastardy. It appearing to the Court that Lucinda Hensley on 12 Nov. 1858 made oath before Wm. F. Sealy, an acting justice of the Peace for Knox Co., that Wm. Duncan is the father of her bastard child of which she was delivered on 7 Nov. 1856, and warrant was issued against said Duncan, said Duncan being bound as the law directs, Duncan appeared and filed an affidavit clearly setting forth that justice requires an issue to be made to try the truth of the aforesaid charge against the defendant of being the father of said bastard child. Cause continued to next term of the Court. Defendant together with Samuel H. Duncan and Edward Rudder posted $250 surety bond, that William Duncan would appear on the first Monday of January next.

Duncan was proven the father of the illigitimate child of Lucinda Hensley, the child now about 2 years 6 months, having been born 7 Nov. 1856; deft. Wm. S. Duncan pay $10 to be applied for support and maintenance of the child for the next 6 months.
