      S-576/577: Agreement, 21 Jan. 1861 between Robert Lamberton of Boro of Franklin, Venango Co. PA the first part, and William C. Duncan of City of Pittsburg, Allegheny Co. PA the second part, first party sells to second party 5 acres of land in Sugarcreek Twp, county & state afsd, being part of the farm formerly owned by David Dempsey, beg. on "Mill or Tow Mile Run" 25 perches above J.R. Neeley's line and adj. piece of land leased for oil purposes to D.W. Bell of Pittsburg, then up said Run to include a small gore of land in the fork of the branches and to extend to the foot of the bank on the western side of the main branch, incl. on the east side of said Run sufficient only to make up said 5 acres, on the fulfillment of all the payments hereinafter, the second party agrees to pay first party $500, $200 in hand paid, and $100 every 4 months hereafter till the balance $300 are paid with interest from date hereof.       T-15/17: Lease. William C. Duncan hereby leases to George S. Gallop and David McKee for 20 years from 1 March 1861, Lots No.3&4 as laid out on his farm in Sugar Creek Twp, Venango Co., PA, said two lots together containing about 1 acre of land, bounded on one side by the Magnolia Oil Company, and on the other by lands of said William C. Duncan, and warrants Geo. S. Gallop and David F. McKee peaceable occupancy upon performing the conditions and making payments hereinafter, and George S. Gallop and David F. McKee agree to pay $100 on signing the lease, to bore at least one oil well on each of the above lots to commence one of them on or before 1 May next and prosecute the boring without unreasonable intermission or delay, and deliver to Wm. C. Duncan put up in barrels at the well's mouth 1/4 of all the oil pumped or produced, Duncan to pay for the barrels containing the fourth the fair market price in cash on their being filled and set apart to him. Campbell's claim, 246 acres and 109 perches, recorded in Patent Book 15, pg.315, now said Samuel Duncan and wife Ann for 277 lbs. 7 sh. 10 pence equal to $739.71 PA money, paid by Nicholas Chapman of Westmoreland Co. PA, that William McKee of this town and wife Mary by their release dated 15 Nov. 1815 recorded in Westmoreland Co. in Book 11 pg.388 released to James Duncan all shares they had to the personal estate of Robert McKee late of Westmoreland Co. decd and also the real estate of said Robert in said county, they William and Mary held in right of Mary as one of the children and heirs of Robert McKee decd, now James Duncan for $300 paid by John Irwin of City of Pittsburgh, have quit claimed to John Irwin all shares ... he has in any way to the afsd and also his right to the real and personal estate of David McKee late of Westmoreland Co. decd which by the instrument of release William & Mary also released to said James Duncan, which James Duncan releases to John Irwin. /s/ James Duncan. Book 11 page 388, quit claimed to James Duncan their interest to property, being a distributive share of personal estate of Robert McKee late of Westmoreland Co. decd. equal to 1/9 part of said personal estate, also the undivided ninth part of a lot of ground contiguous to the mill dam near Greensburg and fronting on the Great Road, being part of the real estate of said Robert McKee decd. of which no distribution has yet been made, and also the undivided 1/8 part of the real estate as of the personal estate of David McKee late of Westmoreland Co. decd; NOW James Duncan and Elizabeth his wife for $100 paid by Mathew Jack of Westmoreland Co., quit claim to Mathew Jack all interest in the estates, personal and real estate, of said Robert and David McKee, subject to all legal claims against the estates. /s/ James Duncan, Elizabeth Duncan.
