IN; to wife Eliza Duncan all my household and kitchen furniture and west half of my dwelling house that I now live in, together with half the use and benefit of the premises and appertanances belonging to or connected with said house, the same being in the town of Fountaintown in said Co., for life, and provisions; to my beloved daughters Mariah L. Ridlin, Mary C. Bennet and Sarah E. McCormick the remaining half of said house ... and all the benefit and privilege of the premises connected therewith that is not mentioned in this will to my beloved wife Eliza Duncan, and at her death all the personal and real property mentioned I give to my beloved daughters above mentioned. I appoint my son Albert Duncan exec. 22 Feb. 1872. Wit. C.H. Shallhouse, Peter W. Martin. Proved 13 April 1872.

RAY, M.D., Brandywine Township, grandson of Bryant and Martha Ray, he died in 1853 aged 45, his widow on October 15, 1907, within a few days of the 100th anniversary of her birth, reared four children, among them a son James the father of our subject who married a daughter of Jacob and Rebecca Booher ...who had six children ... Dr. Franklin E. Ray, the oldest member of the family, was born October 16, 1865, ... The Doctor's domestic life dates from September 30, 1897, when he was united in marriage at Columbus, Indiana, with Allie Davis, daughter of William and Sarah J. (Duncan) Davis, formerly of Bartholomew county but now residents of Indianapolis, the union being without issue. Mr. and Mrs. Davis are the parents of five children, who are, besides the wife of our subject, William A. of Chicago; Nettie, wife of Charles Hamilton, of Indianapolis; Mrs. Hattie Heagey, of Dexter, Mo., and Mrs. Bessie Moore, of Columbus, Indiana.
