            Doctor's bill from 1859 to April 9, 1861, by Dr. John W. Thayer, signed 19 May 1862, which also includes doctor for child, and doctor for children.
            Warrant to appraisers W.F. OBanion and Anderson Kemp and Robert J. Young 17 March 1862, returned 4 April 1862, to value estate; total (personal) $627.50. Land includes 80 acres of Prairie lands E 1/2 SE 1/4 Sec.19 T18 R2 purchased of "J. Crocker (title lost not recorded)" and 15 acres of timber land out of W 1/2 NW 1/4 Sec.21 T19N R2E purchased of Wm. Clifton, total $1,000.
            (Filled in form) Petition of Anderson Franklin for letters of administration on the estate of Robert Duncan, to the Judge of Macon Co., 17 March 1862, /s/ A. Franklin. That Robert Duncan late of Macon Co. died at his residence in Macon Co. on 19 Jan. 1862, leaving property and effects in the county and leaving no will, and the probable amount of his estate will be about $1,000 both real & personal. That he left surviving him Priscilla Duncan as his widow and John Duncan, Harrison Duncan, Amelia Duncan, Francis M. Duncan, Martha Duncan and Penelope Duncan as his children. Petitioner being a friend of the deceased, asks that letters be issued to himself on Robert Duncan's Estate.

      Pg.217: John N. Demsey was born in Fayette Co. OH in the year of 1813. About the year 1832 he was married at Chillicothe [Ross Co.], OH, to Tabitha Duncan, a native of Jackson Co. OH, and a daughter of General John Duncan. General John Duncan was born in TN and was connected with a family of that name who settled in middle [Hardeman Co.] TN, where a considerable number of the descendants still reside. During the Indian troubles, connected with the War of 1812, he raised a regiment in TN with which to fight the Indians, and after having served in OH, he settled at Salt Springs in Jackson Co. of that state, where he lived for many years.

      Miss Jennie Duncan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Duncan, died at the home of her parents in this city on Friday evening last, at 7 o'clock. The funeral services were held from the family residence Sunday at 10:30 a.m., Rev. J. W. Taylor, pastor of the Baptist church, preached the funeral. The burial was at the I.O.O.F. cemetery west.
