County divorce reports, 1818-1929 (no index to early ones); AL Bureau of Vital Statistics; reports filed by Chancery Court, later Circuit Court; divorces once required an act of legislature; the years 1818-1864 were compiled by AL Dept. of Archives & Hist. Division of Records Management from the Acts of Alabama; includes names, complainant, respondent, year of act, and page number from acts. Some include the county of residence.
